Cons: TiresLooking to buy another seabring conv.
Pros: Lots of them
Cons: Getting in the back, but no biggie.
Advice: Don't expect a sports car.Review of 2004 Chrysler Sebring Limited convertible. Some reviews I’ve read seem disappointed that the Sebring vert isn’t more of a sports car. This isn’t anything wrong with the car, but with the reviewers’ expectations. If you want a sports vert, you go to a two-seater, not a four-seater. What the Sebring vert is, for my money, is an unmatched touring car. I live in Florida, so I get to drive a lot with the top down. (Plus I’ve just bought a windshield for the back, which permits driving in cooler weather. Even tho it’s for the back, it makes the front warmer in cool weather) I love the car, and my wife must like it, since she insists on driving it everywhere. But that’s okay with me, since it’s fun to either drive or ride in. I even like riding in the back on the Interstate—even before we got the supplemental windshield). The top is easy to put up or down, and when you put it down, the windows also go down. When you speed up over 10mph, the doors lock. And there are a lot of other thoughtful features. A readout in the dash gives you a lot of info, including the estimated mpg. BTW, we bought the car with 74,000 miles on it, and it still looks and drives like new. All in all, a practical convertible. PS: Other car is a 1996 Cherokee with 154,000 miles, which also looks and drives like new. (I kid you not!)
Pros: beautiful with the top down!
Cons: Rattling Windows, poor heating system
Advice: look at other convertibles with a sturdier build! The Chrysler Sebring convertible has many problems/quirks. The windows are horrendous with their rattling. I have taken the car 8x to be adjusted and they never improve. The positive note is the pickup of the v6....very snappy, and smooth sailing! :) The excessive wind noise, and rattling windows are very annoying. I would never buy another sebring convertible. The Sebring has the typical Chrysler issues. Fun to drive with the top down, but otherwise a very noisy car.
Pros: Low cost operation for a third car purchased for fun
Cons: the engine
Advice: would purchase the 6 cylinder if gas weren't so expensivePurchased the four cylinder Sebring. I'm tall - 6'-7' and for me this is a comfortable car. Car handles well, four cylinder engine makes the car slightly underpowered so it 'feels' heavy. Roof works without a hitch, no leaks, air system both A/C and heat are powerful; one quality issue is back rear window which has an annoying rattle when driving with the roof up which makes a sound when you hit holes. Personally I love the looks of the car, but that is of course subjective.
Pros: interior appearance
Cons: does not have anti lock brakes!!!!
Advice: buy one that is a year old. they are expensive new and as soon as you drive off the lot your car loses value anyways!!I was never a big fan of the older Sebrings but WOW I love this car! I am 18 and thought I would never buy a car like this but this car was very stylish and the test drive proved that the car can be sporty and accomodate a family whe the time comes! Sebring has come a long way!!
