2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser - Base

Pros: Roominess and comfort as both driver and passenger.

    Cons: The look! Honestly!

Advice: It's a lot roomier inside that what it looks like outside!

When I was first told that we would be test driving a PT Cruiser, I had no clue what type of car it was. I was actually disappointed when I saw the car! But the test drive won me over! It was such a smooth ride and handled wonderfully! What a pleasant surprise! And I found that it's about the same length as the Jeep Cherokee Sport, so it doesn't take up alot of space in the garage. The only negative comment I have is that it doesn't seem to get the gas mileage it claims - I would say probably about 17-21 mpg!

2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser - Touring

    Pros: Body Style -

Cons: Gas Milage - 21 to 26 miles per gallon?... I don't think so, more like 17 to 21

Advice: If you are looking for power, take a look a the turbo model.

Car is great and runs well. Could use more turn radius, when making a 'U' turn, be aware this car does not turn well. Gas milage could be a lot better when comparing with similar competitor makes. But overall car is great!!!

2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser - GT

    Pros: Comfort and headroom.

Cons: Wish it were a little roomier in the back.

    Advice: GO for it!

I am a tall guy and this car is PERFECT! It has lots of room in the front and has the most comfortable cabin I have ever been in. The turbo is very peppy and it handles well. I am very pleased with how this has turned out. I traded in a 2003 Subaru Baja and it's NIGHT and DAY in terms of COMFORT, headroom, performance, etc. I would give this car a 10 out of 10. 220 HP is plenty for me.

2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser - GT

Pros: The interior layout and the leather interior with seat warmers. (needed in Canada!)

Cons: The wheel hubs are falling apart from inside.

Advice: Check the hubs before you buy and if they are fine, put some sort of sealant on the inside to stop them from rusting out your wheels.

I have the GT Turbo fully loaded with all the extras. It drives well with fairly tight handling.I have the Automatic with the Auto-Stick. I find the transmission a little spongey at times between gears, especially when using the Auto-Stick. The wheels are the 17 inch chrome wheels. The problem is that the wheel centre hubs are falling apart and causing the wheels themselves to rot out in the centre. I have spoken to other owners who have had the same problem. I have been told by one dealer out of town that this should be covered under warranty. The hubs alone cost $40 plus tax apiece. My mechanic tells me that the wheels themselves need to be replaced too. I am hoping that the dealer sees that this is a manufacturer's flaw. I am hoping to connect to as many people as possible who are experiencing the same problem. P.S. I had to use a Detroit Zip code that I know from when I lived in Windsor (in Canada across the river)and that is where I bought the car. I actually live in Bolton Ontario.

2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser - Touring

    Pros: Retro look, great lines

Cons: Really cannot think of anything

Advice: Get ready to have some fun

Touring Edition can be configured almost exactly as GT, but about 3,000 dollars less. Four-wheel disc antilock brakes, traction control, etc. 180 HP turbo is plenty for me. After owning a Jeep Wrangler for a couple of years, the one touch top operation is a dream come true. Already have a PT sedan in the family, but the lines of the convertable top are just as awesome as the hardtop model. I love it, I love it, I love it!

2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser - Touring

Pros: Easy top up and down

    Cons: wide turning radius

Advice: If you want a low cost convertible

I have the 2.4 Turbo 180hp. I am 6'3' and this is a very comfortable car with ample leg room for my frame. the car is extremely quiet for a convertible. It rides more comfortable than my 2001 Dodge Durango did. The turbo gives it some get up and go for a four cylinder! I get a lot of looks and wow comments from people. This car is a winner. And to top it off, it's fun to drive !!!!!It's not the boring run of the mill sedan.
