    2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser

PT Cruiser - GT Series (only)

Pros: Performance.. car is computer governored at 135 mph.

Cons: Temptation to 'weigh' your foot on the gas pedal...

Most fun, comfortable, and flexible car I've ever owned (above Mercedes, Volvo, Olds Toronado, Mercury Grand Marquis). With the H.O, turbo, performance is great and (with restraint) the gas mileage is good (27-29 hwy.).

    2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser

    Pros: The front seats

Cons: killer blind spots (more like acres)

I love my PT crusier Convertible, it looks great and people on the street love it. The maintenacne is a killer and the quality of the parts is terrible. I've repaced items on this car with 50 -60k miles that I've never replaed on vehicles with 120K miles. Buy the extended bumper to bumper warranty with these babies. Everyone I know who owns one says the same thing about the mechanicals.

    2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser

One of my best cars ever..

Pros: Turbo performance & retro appearance

Cons: CAN bus electronics intro'd in '06 (not in my '05)

I've owned cars such as Oldsmobile (FWD Toronado), Mercedes-Benz (220S) and Volvo (240DL) but his little car, a GT series (with HO turbo) is one of the best, and easily the most fun, of any of them. Driver/ passenger comfort is great, it delivers good handling and gas mileage (up to 29mpg) as well as great performance - 0-60 in a little over 6 seconds and a top speed of 135 mph. Plan to keep this one a long time..

2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser - GT

Pros: Turbo, leather seats, heated seats, headroom

Cons: Turning ratio was VERY BAD, for a small car it requires a huge circle to turn around , trade in value was TERRIBLE, they depreciate badly! If you really want one, buy a gently used model, because the depreciation will KILL YOU!

Advice: Check out the new Subaru Forester, it's about the same price but it feels much larger inside and is all wheel drive

I bought a 2005 PT Cruiser TURBO new back in 2005 and just traded it in for a Subaru Forester. I think the PT Cruiser was a very comfortable driving car with plenty of get up and go. I NEVER once had it in the shop so it had a GREAT reliability record. My only complaint was that the turning ratio was VERY bad, for a small car you need a football field to turn it around in. The other problem I had was with the fit and finish, one day while driing down the road the passenger visor just fell off onto the floor. The passenger seat is supposed to fold down flat to form a desk but it really never folded flat and had so much of an angle that your paperwork slides off. All in all it was not an expensive car to drive or own and the get up and go of the TURBO is really good. Didn't feel stable at speeds over 85 MPG, the steering wheel would shake and the car felt like it wasn't in good contact with the road at very high speeds.

2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser - Touring

    Pros: It is a convertible

Cons: The car's handling on wet streets makes one overly cautious.

    Advice: Get a bright color

I purchased the car [new] in December '05 during a smow storm. This is a good time to buy a convertible. I have not had the top down yet, but am waiting for a good sunny warm day. The performance is great with good power [I have a blue touring model]. But you should watch it on wet roads. The car can easily get away from you. There is good room for a person like me @ 6 ft 2 and 212 lbs as the driver and the rear passengers have little difficulty getting in and riding in the back seat. I disllike not driving through the car wash, but self wash is good excersize. I dislike persons calling the car as cute. When they ride with me, I show off the power to dispel the cute label. I'd buy this car again. It's a fun car.
