2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser - Touring Edition

    Pros: Interior and features

Cons: Major Repairs and problems with front end

Advice: Buy the extended warrantly and sell before 50,000K

Major Repairs! I loved my Cruiser but after the costly repairs started, I was not so enamoured with this car. I purchased the extended warranty and that was a money saver with the first two major repairs (other than the $100 deductible each time), but 3,000 miles past the expiration, the tourque converter went -- left me stranded and with a huge repair bill. I have had it in three times for a noise in the front end that the dealership has yet to find and fix! The car is a money pit!!!!!

2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser - Touring Edition

    Pros: Styling

    Cons: repair costs

    Advice: Don't

I really like the car but was supprised by the cost of maintenance that was required. At 25k the front brakes were gone rotors also couldn't be turned.Today the motor mounts need replaced 42k at a cost of $1000.00 I'm afraid this is my last Chrysler as its to expensive to own even with the warrenties and I even bought the extended one too.

2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser - Base

Pros: Styling - high seating - mileage

Cons: recessed gauges, golf clubs don't fit across in the back, battery access, 3yr-36k warranty on 2002

Advice: get stick shift with std. engine for best performance, or 180 hp turbo with automatic transmission

I purchased a 2002 Pt Classic, standard engine, 5 speed, 24K miles. It love the theater-style seating. My son, who is 6'3', has plently of front-seat headroom and legroom. I get 22 MPG in town, using the AC, and 35 mpg on the highway. The battery is cumbersome to check, since the air cleaner has to be loosened and moved out of the way to get at it -A price you have to pay for the unique styling and compact engine compaartment. Also the gauges are so deeply recessed that they are difficult to read with sunglasses on. The interior is comfortable and easy to get in and out of. since you step slightly up , instead of down to enter. It is compact and easy to park. I love the grocery bag hooks in the rear.

2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser - Touring Edition

Pros: Sunroof, Compass, Outside Temp, and overall look of vehicle

Cons: The location of the power window buttons. F & R

Advice: Buy one they are awesome!! Shop around to get the best price though.

Fell in love with it as soon as I saw it! It has all the bells and whistles. It has held up very well. Perfect cargo room. The steering feels very percise and tight to the road. I wouldn't trade it for anything. I love this car!!

2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser - Touring Edition

Pros: Ease of entry and exit. (I have rhumetoid arthritis)

Cons: Can't think of a problem.

Advice: Great around town car. Especially for those who have trouble getting into and out of a small car.

Good for what I bought it for. Around town, my wife uses it to go to and from work, less than 1 mile each day. She does not drive it on the interstate and I only drive interstate with it to keep it running well. For interstate travel my Cadillac, Dodge Ram or motorhome are a better choice. But, then again I do ride a Harley. Double standard I guess.

2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser - Base

    Pros: body style

    Cons: not much

    Advice: drive one

what else can i say its a fast little car and i have no problem with its performance. though i have heard many complaints about its lack of power i dont see this to be a problem.i have owned many of a automobile from the slowest kia to the fastest mustang.the compfort is outstanding.the head room is great.the minute you sit behind the steering wheel your in love.the handling is just another plus.she can take tight fast corners and stop on a dime.but yet on the other side she is a handy vehicle that can get the kids to school on time and also pick up a fairly big load of grocerys.a pt is one of those cars that once your out for a drive you dont evar want to go home.in three words the car is fun, fun, fun.a car for all ages!!!!this is my second pt.i have owned a 2001 and now a 2002.all i can say is differnt strokes for differnt folks.its up to you.drive one maybe you will fall in love all over again.
