Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: style and comfort
Advice: Get to know your gas station attendant, you will be seeing alot of them.I absolutely love my 2004 Pacifica.....but it has the worst gas mileage. 13.6 mpg How is that for a gas hog!
Pros: The style and comfort.
Cons: Blind spot in rear and clunky transmission.
Advice: Get the reverse sensors for backing and AWD.This car is comfortable, roomy and very solid. It drives well in the rain and snow (AWD). I really like the european feel of the interior and the optional power liftgate.
Pros: Definitely, the overall safeness, and stability it has!
Cons: It didn't have temperature control adjustments for the passengers.
Advice: No advice. Just 'Congratulations' upon the purchase of this amazing vehicle!Upon my experience test driving the Pacifica I found it extremely comfortable no matter where and how I chose to drive it. If it was a weaving experience due to unsafe conditions, to sharp corners the Pacifica was excellent in its handling and overall performance. I like to feel that the vehicle will remain safe, and that you don't feel the vehicle sways in rocky situations (the feeling you are going to tip-over). It has been a vehicle I have longed to test drive since it was available. In the lines of an SUV, I'd have to give from a scale from 1 to 10, I would rate the Pacifica a 12. It drove like a car, with the benefits of an SUV.
Pros: Navigation unit
Advice: read above commentJust recently purchased a Pacifica AWD w/ all the options. The car is superb. It is a heavy vehicle but performance is adequate compare to other SUV's. It drives almost like a car but don't expect it to have a gas mileage of a car. Gas mileage is average compare to other SUV's. Visibility is quite a task at first, but I got used to it after a few days. Although backing-up might pose a challenge for begginers. Very comfortable on long drives specially on rear passengers with it's first class seating and DVD sound's great with 5.1 surround, but sub-woofer is not quite powerful but enough to give some thump. The pacifica rides so smooth and very quiet. Navigation is easy to control and it sits right inside where the speedometer is located.Nav is very easy to read and accurate. If you don't care about all the options pacifica has to offer and you like the it just the way it looked I would suggest get the more fuel efficient 3.8l found on the base model. The base model only offers 5 person seating.
Cons: Gas Milage. So far it's not so good. Obsolutely it is better thatn my previous Ford Explorer
Advice: If you want a luxury car, this is the car to pick with relatively lower budget. You are looking at 35K.I wish the performance be better. With 3.5 Litter Eangine, the accelation could have been better. The handling is very smooth.
Pros: Heated, reclining middle row seats & fully opening rear door windows... wheel mounted radio and cruise controls
Cons: Rear doors could open a bit wider for easier third row access, but then they might be too wide for parking lot opening... no floor mats in the third row!
Advice: Get in the third row, an adult could fit there if necessary.... and it is NOT known for rear visibility or 'great' gas mileage... accept those facts up frontMy three children picked this after totally disregarding the Town&Country I decided on first(they HATED the 'in the floor' seats). I wanted the SRX, they refused to sit in the 3rd row. Enter the Pacifica. They each have their own 'space' due to the middle row console, and they love the reclining, heated middle row seats. Handling is great. Coming from a minivan, the driver height is fine. You need to be able to drive with mirrors as the rear visibility is nominal, EVERY review will tell you that. I haven't found pickup or transmission shifting issues. Seats are very comfortable for all, storage with 6 seats up is limited. We rarely use more than 5 so this hasn't been an issue yet. I drive a carpool with 4 teenage girls, no complaints about sitting in the third row (except for the lack of heated seats there). Cup holders are deep to reduce tipping. Could have more pockets or bins. Glove box barely holds manuals yet alone maps. Feels safe and holds the road well. I have the AWD touring version, without all the bells and whistles (just those heated seats!) My oldest 2 are already bickering over who gets it as their car when it's time for me to replace it in 5-6 years (typical length of time I keep a car). I don't think we could have had a better pick, all family members love the car and the features it has, plus the looks from others. It is not unusual to have people walk up to you to ask about it, I've NEVER had this happen before with a car!
Pros: The interior and exterior view.
Cons: No Backup Sensors
Advice: Buy It!, don't need the AWDAmazing vehicle
