Taking a page from the playbooks of both the Chevy Corvette and the Ford F-150, the Chrysler Group has begun offering factory tours of the Sterling Heights (Mich.) Assembly Plant where the all-new 2015 Chrysler 200 is produced. But while folks have to travel to Kentucky to see Corvettes being created, or visit Michigan to watch F-150s come together at Ford's historic Rouge plant, you can watch the 2015 Chrysler 200 roll down the line from the comfort of your own computer or digital device.

That's because the 2015 Chrysler 200 Factory Tour is an all-digital affair, leveraging Google Maps Business View and compatible with both Android and Apple operating system. The starting point is located at www.Chrysler200FactoryTour.com, where visitors will see a 30-second film introducing the experience and can then plunge right in. A dozen dedicated videos are available to detail key steps in the manufacturing process, but the company also promises the opportunity to "explore every inch of the [plant's] 5 million square feet on their own."

There's plenty to see, too, since the automaker poured almost $1 billion into upgrading the plant to prepare for the 2015 Chrysler 200, with highlights including all-new paint and body shops, with the latter boasting an advanced brazing system that laser seals each side of the roof the 2015 Chrysler 200 with one continuous weld.

Said Olivier Francois, chief marketing officer for the Chrysler Group LLC: “Just as we pioneered a completely new Chrysler 200, we are pioneering a new way for consumers to research a vehicle. The Factory Tour is an opportunity for us to prove to consumers that the all-new 2015 Chrysler 200 is not one ever built before. It’s ‘all-new’ in every aspect, and will challenge consumer perceptions in the mid-size segment.

"I personally wish everyone could visit the plant to walk through and experience the fascinating process live. But since we can’t bring people to the plant, we've worked with Google to openly bring the plant to the people, so they can themselves experience how these processes drive precision, reliability and deliver an exceptional and truly all-new Chrysler 200."
