Cons: Everything else
Advice: Look at the Tahoe or SuburbanPurchased this vechile new and had it about three months before having major electrical problems. The 4WD did not work properly, tail lights stopped working, and the heater blower motor would stop functioning when it was very cold. Took the vechile to the dealer to have the computer reprogrammed four times and still had the same problems. What was even worse was the way GM handled my complaints. They were rude and uncaring. This vechile was a lemon. The body sway of the vechile was horrible, and handling suffered. The engine was decent for this size of a vechile, and the only good quality was braking. Overall this was the worst vechile I have ever owned.
Pros: The body size
Cons: The engine and all other mechanical pieces
Advice: Be cautiousWe have had nothing but problems with our 02 Trail Blazer and are vehemently trying to get out of ours. We have gone through 2 transmissions and at least 20 service tickets for various other issues. Very disaapointed with GMC's product and will not purchase another.
Pros: At first it was the appearance.
Cons: The running boards continually become a risk to use. Need to be wider and more supportive or to just go away. Fashion over function.
Advice: Look at something else. The gas milage in and around town will bankrupt you.One of the smoothest vehicles I've driven and it's also fairly comfortable. But... The roof rack is a joke. They should either commit to a quality rack that supports weight or just not offer it. I placed an aftermarket 'sports box' the type you can load skis or snowboards into and seal them off from road grime. After I installed the box I noticed that the crossbars were already bending without anything in the box. I ended up putting them inside between the heads of my friends in the back seat(not exactly safe. The transmission overheats easy and then does not shift properly when towing a boat on a trailer thats less then 80% of it's rated towing capacity. Twice the rear latch has failed to lock and has partially opened while driving. If I put some equipment ito the back that requires me to fold down the rear seat. I cnt drive properly because the seat is pushed to far forward. I't getting traded in this spring....
Pros: turning ratio
Cons: the terrible and unreliable 4wd system
Advice: DON'T BUY IT!!!I own a 2002 Trailblazer LS. It has been the biggest headache of my life. Everything that can go wrong with it has. Its spent the majority of its short life at the dealer repair shop. The wort problem has been the 4wd. Its been in the shop over 16 times for JUST 4wd issues, not to mention the whole host of other problems. Its going in tomorrow to have a new blower motor put in...the 2nd one. Thank god I bought the extended warrenty. I can't wait to unload this peice of junk. I will never buy GM again!
Cons: Computer problems, wind noise
Advice: Don't buy this type, others are much better for the sme price.I have owned this SUV for 3.5 yrs and have had problems galore, almost everything was covered by an extended warrenty thur the dealer because of intial problems but...who wants to be wasting valuable time in a service dept. Gas milage 13mpg only. I've decided to trade it for a Honda or Toyota. Tires, Battery were shot at 24K miles, now rotors&brakes are going which is normal for Chevy's @48K I'm told. Excessive wind noise also. Its a lemon.
Pros: engine power
Cons: gas milage, numerous problems
Advice: don't get the 02, I feel like we were guinea pigs and gm won't stand behind this truckI have never been so disapointed in a vehicle before. To start the gas milage is terrible. The paint started chiping the first week. The front bumper warped. The inside rubber trim around the doors is coming off. The right side driver door leaks. I had to replace the clutch fan, $700.00. Many owners had to replace that part around the same milage (40,000). Now my air conditioner compressor needs to be replaced, $1200.00 for this repair. Any vehicle built in this day and age should hold up way better than this!!!!!!!! Trying to trade mine in!!!
