Pros: turning radius. huge, quality interior, smooth ride and responsive power and handling
Cons: electronic quirks
Advice: Shop around, everyone has a ton of these on there lotsFantastic turning radius for a car this big, I am 6'4 and will never again be able to drive the smaller SUV's. I owned a Nissan Pathfinder which I loved, because of the great ride, but the Tahoe blows it away. Ride quality is wonderful. Very functional, well though out controls. A few electronic quirks which need to be fixed, but other than that, I couldn't be happier. If it holds together (it is GM, so thats a big if) I can see myself keeping this thing for a long time.
Advice: get a used one if you are going to get oneOverpriced. Should be 5,000 to 10,000 less.
Cons: TOO MANY TRIPS TO THE SHOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Advice: DON'T BUY A 2003 TAHOE-not worth the cashI purchased my brand new 2003 Tahoe from Luby Chevrolet in Denver, CO on October 17,2002. It has already been back to the dealer TWICE for service. The first time it was the 4 wheel drive. The second time the heated seats would not work, the seats could not be adjusted, and the outside mirrors could not be adjusted. That time it was not repaired bc we have to wait for the part to be ordered. I am sooooo disappointed in this truck and General Motors.
Pros: power seat memory
Cons: look of the rear high...level would be nice
Advice: if you have the $ do the LTfor buying the LT model a little pricey but really nice in all other aspects 8k and no problems yet. We opted for the larger V8 and the Tahoe we got was fully loaded...also look at the Escalade and Tahoe said it all unless you need a ego boster the Tahoe was worth it all!!
Cons: The factory wheels
Advice: Your only agonizing choice will be what color to order it in.Prior to purchasing the Tahoe I drove the Expedition, the Toyota Sequoia, and the Suburban. The Tahoe destroyed the Ford and the Toyota in power, interior room, and overall feel. I have only minor complaints. Not worthy of even listing due to the fact that they were immediately taken care of by the dealer. I did not purchase the Suburban because the longer wheelbase and the lower ride hight would hamper the occasional off road adventure. I couldn't be happier. The Tahoe has more power, versatility, room and comfort for the money that the purchase was a no-brainer.
Pros: Overall Performance
Cons: Gas Mileage
Advice: Get the Z71. Also, if you dont have to have it, do not get OnStarBest SUV ever been in. Drove Dodge Durango, Toyota 4 Runner, Nissan Exterra, and Cadillac Escalade. Nothing compared to the Tahoe. Have to get the Z71 model--much sportier and better ride/handling (for an SUV). Excellent space, comfort, and options. My opinion, doesn't get any better than this.
Pros: XMSR Radio/OnStar
Cons: Cheap materials and workmanship and the deletion of older options that worked well.
Advice: Look at the GMC Yukon Denali or a LexusHandles well for an SUV. Good acceleration for a vehicle of its size. Brakes leave a little to be desired, especially if you tow anything.
