best vehicle ive ever had
Pros: go any were i want
Cons: not good on gasVery good suv
One of the best cars I've ever owned
Pros: Seating comfort, reliability
Cons: Washing it. It's a big car.I have a 2005 Tahoe Z71 and it is without a doubt the one of best car I have ever owned. Comfortable, low maintenance and unbelievably reliable. I have 55,000 miles on it and, except for oil changes and other minor regular service, the only other service for the car was to replace a taillamp bulb. The car is great in the snow and the stability control works miracles on ice. The ride is as comfortable as my Jaguar XJ, but more reliable and less expensive. For reference, I have owned a BMW 6 series, Jaguar XJ, Ford Thunderbird, Cadillac Eldorado, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Ford Exporer, Saab 900 and several other cars. GM and Chevy have really improved their quality in recent years.
Pros: I like everything about this truck.
Cons: nothing i like everything about this truck.
Advice: Go and get the z71 package.I purchased the z71 package and love this truck it has all of the power that you would want .Great ride i have owned toyota's but like the tahoe much better it has more room,The silver birch color is great it does show dirt .I would buy another tahoe . GM keep up the good work.
Pros: Memory seats, pedals and mirrors; Lots of room
Cons: Driver's seat is slightly uncomfortable on the left side; Interior storage compartments cannot be locked
Advice: Great handling and comfortableThe '05 4x4 handles extremely well for a full-size vehicle. Of course, it was a program vehicle and only had 6500 miles when we bought it so it has yet to be broken in. I prefer this body style over the '07. My wife especially enjoys the memory seats, pedals and mirrors above all. There is plenty of leg and head room in the front and back seats. The sound system and DVD player are almost as good as the ones in our home. XM radio is an added plus. It has all the bells and whistles one could ever want (or use). We can hardly wait to take it on our vacation.
Pros: looks, ride, handling, & fuel mileage
Cons: GM didn't offer the 3:73 rear end on this year you could only get the 3:42 )in which mine has) or the 4:10 rearend and the 3:42 rear end isn't a good towing rear end and 4:10 is a gas guzzler. the 2007 is putting in the 3:73 standard now.
Advice: If plan on doing any heavy towing (travel trailer) I would make sure it had the 4:10 rear endI had a 2001 before I got the 2005 Great vehicle great ride handling fuel mileage. The only real complaint I have with GM is the deleted options that were standard on the 2001 model and don't even offer it on 2005 model for example no glove compartment light, no under hood light, electric seat only on the drivers side, spare tire didn't have raised white letters when ordered with raise white letters option, etc. and also as much as GM charges for a new car I don't see why we should have to pay for Onstar and XM satilite radio separtely I think those items should be included in the price of the vehicle but otherwise I would buy another Tahoe. I think the 2007 Tahoe is going to be another great vehicle I think it is a sharp looking vehicle.
Pros: Quiet, responsive, interior quality.
Cons: Driver seat could be more comfortable
Advice: Do it !I drove my new Tahoe to Palm Beach from New Hampshire on business. With my Nav system and SatRad it was sheer joy ! Handling and maneuverability are perfect. Steering was easy and cabin appointments made the 'T' a perfect companion with virtually no wind noise. The Engine is responsive and has blazing acceleration. Not bad for 3 ton vehicle. Fuel economy is ok under 60 MPH at 17 MPG. GM could make the drivers seat a little more tush friendly and softer. Other than that its a winner !
Pros: The way it handles for a full size SUV - GREAT!
Cons: Climbing in and out
Advice: If you don't need to haul a full load of people plus luggage, this is your vehicle.I had a 2003 Trailblazer EXT that I hated. The six had no power and it handled lousy. One day while having it serviced my salesman told me about a great lease deal on the Tahoe. I jumped at the chance to dump the Trailblazer. The Tahoe LT is more truck than I need but it is a pleasure to drive with its powerful V8 and it handles like a much smaller vehicle. It is getting almost 16mpg in mixed highway/city driving. I was prepared for 12mpg so I'm very happy. It has almost every feature you could want and is very roomy for my family of 4. There is very little room behind the 3rd row seat which does not fold flat into the floor but when it is folded up we can haul 2 weeks worth of vacation luggage. Yes, it is 'old tech' and has not been changed much since the 2000 model year but this has turned out to be GOOD. After 6 model years thay have apparently learned how to build it right. It's dependable, a pleasure to drive, and the leather interior is pleasant even if not of the highest quality materials. The controls are logical and the XM Radio is a hit with everyone in our family. IF YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE CUTTING EDGE, AND ARE LOOKING FOR A ROOMY, DEPENDABLE FULL SIZE SUV, GIVE THE TAHOE A TEST DRIVE. Also, full size SUV's are not flying off dealer lots with the current gas prices. You should be able to save enough to more than pay for the extra gas.
