Look out, Bob Seger. The Bowtie brand is cueing up an all-new soundtrack for its all-new 2014 Chevy Silverado, and the tune slated to debut on July 4 as part of the truck’s launch effort. Performed by Will Hoge, who earned a Grammy nod as the writer of “Even If It Breaks Your Heart,” the Silverado’s new anthem will be called “Strong” and grew out of a song-writing session between Hoge, Zach Crowell and Ashley Gorly.

As Hoge recounts on his website: “Well, next thing you know it’s made it’s way to some folks who work for this automobile company called ‘Chevrolet.’ Perhaps you’re familiar with it? You know, the company Don Draper and Co. are wooing on Mad Men? Yeah. That one. Well, they love our song. So we record a full band version. They love it more. They want to use it in their new campaign for the launch of the 2014 Chevy Silverado. I say ‘ummmm……YES!’”

Naturally, the song will get the full video treatment and be available digitally as well, with the launch campaign for the 2014 Chevy Silverado kicking off in Texas before going national soon after.

“There is no more appropriate place to launch the new Silverado campaign than in Texas, the heart of truck country, and no better way to launch it than through music,” said Tim Mahoney, Global Chevrolet chief marketing officer. “The song 'Strong' celebrates Silverado owners who are as dependable and capable as their trucks.

“We think this original song and our all-new Silverado harmonize perfectly.”
