Pros: heated seats come in handy after killin that big buck on a frosty mornin
Cons: nothing its fine
Advice: its great and will never let you downi have had my 2002 silverado 2500 z71 for 5 years and nothing has gon wrong yet and its gotten me out of plenty of mud holes that the other guys wouldnt try its a great truck and id never trade it for the world!
Pros: Z71 ride on gravel, washboard roads, room in the back seat for large teenage boys
Advice: If you drive steep, gravel or rough road, get the Z71 option, big difference.I have 95k on my Silverado now and have only needed to replace the brake pads once and tires twice, thats it. This is the finest vehicle I have ever owned. I compared when buying to the ford, dodge, toyota etc. The Silverado posted more power and economy, I have found these numbers to be true. I get at least 17 mpg, even in 4wd. The Silverado was the only truck that an adult (european)could actually sit in the rear seat comfortably. I have read some belly-aching about the Silverado ride height and gizmos from others on this site and I must say that the gizmos are actually very useful (running lights, outside temp, change oil etc.)if you actually read the owners manual. I use my truck for a lot of hauling and towing, can someone tell me the benefit of having an elevated truck body as some have respondants wish the Silverado had. I think that these guys are closet Toyota and Dodge owners who are always the ones in the ditch when it snows. Yeah, that elevated chasis looks real cool when the tow truck is righting thier vehicle.
Cons: Gas milage
Advice: If you can afford the gasVehicle was fine for first 8-10 months, then started eating tires(3 sets in 38500 miles) at year 2 the steering system started to creak and pop. gas milage with the small v-8 was about 14 hwy 10 city (I do have a lead foot) Plenty of power, lots of room for my 7 foot 600 pound frame.
Pros: 5.3 V8 engine
Cons: passanger leg room
Advice: the silverado is comftorable and I have had no problems with my 27140 milesI love my silverado extended cab it is comfortable. The only problem is the passanger side has the center console extending too far into the passangers leg room The cab has a lot of storage room and it is easy to store luggage. My grandfather drives a 2001 Ford F-150 extended cab and says my Silverado extended cab rides smoother and the back seat has 'a lot more leg room'.
Cons: question of reliability over the long haul
Advice: buy from a good dealershipThe Silverado truck is a quiet, good handling, fairly economical on highways, truck
Pros: The Performance of the Motor.
Cons: The Top Speed Limitor.
Advice: Buy it, Get 4x4 and you can pick either motor we own both and they tow great.I love my Chevy Silverado. The performance on it is great. I am very happy I bought it. I considered every type of truck out there. I came back to the chevy because it was so nice. The only thing i dont like about it is the Top speed Limitor at 97mph but i fixed that with a HyperTech Power Programmer.
