2002 Chevrolet Avalanche 2500 - 4x2
Submitted on 8/26/2001 1:43:33 PM- Summary
Pros: Functionality - Hands down
Cons: Rather hard to park
Advice: Get the running boards...it sets rather high off the ground
I first heard about the new Avalanche in the office where it was refered to as a 'what the Sport Trac wants to be'. That about sums it up. It drives like a luxury car (albeit a large one) but has the versitility and function of a truck. What could be better. I get stares and looks wherever I drive it. Really a well thought out and well developed vehicle.

2002 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 - 4x4
Submitted on 8/7/2001 6:58:05 PM- Summary
Pros: Panels, compartments, windows, compartments, pickup bed, compartments
Cons: feels heavy
Advice: if you want the creature comforts of a suburban, buy one --
Hello from Fairfax Virginia, home to more SUVs per capita than anywhere in the nation (although terrain is relatively flat, and no snow to speak of). I've owned Suburbans, Expeditions, and one Isuzu diesel PU, and the Avalanche is the 'Reanimator' version (remember the movie?) of all three. Although only 3100 GVW, the Avalanche feels exceedingly heavy, in that it is based on the Suburban platform. However, it is very comfortable, and doesn't have that F250 feel that the Expedition has. Cool features, although I am concerned about the seal between the PU bed and the passenger compartment -- a great idea, but I think I'll wait a year before I spring for one - as a yuppie with a big yard, the Suburban/PU combination is intriguing, and, there aren't many on the road.

Pros: 6 disc in dash CD changer
Cons: Small gas tank at 18 gal.
Advice: Buy one!
This car is just AMAZING! I have owned many SUV's in the past and this is a truck that is a pleasure to drive. VERY comfortable to drive and the proformance is top notch. I haven't been this excited about a car since my first one years ago! The options are plenty, sound from the stereo is better then expected. Towing with the truck is a pleasure. This truck is a head turner! I have received several comments about it. 'NICE truck!'.

Pros: Radio controls in rear passanger seats
Cons: So many controls to figure out
Advice: Go ahead and TEST drive the others!
I shopped for a month before I discovered the Trail Blazer. I thought I really wanted a 4 runner until I test drove one, and the inside was tight. The Trailblazer drives smooth. I have gotten complements from everyone on the look. I have also gotten great gas mileage.

Pros: Bose Premium Sound System
Cons: Running Boards
Advice: Test drive one ASAP!
I have owned a 4Runner, Explorer, Blazer and Tahoe SUV's and the TrailBlazer is by far the best of them all! Quiet, smooth, car-like ride; 270hp that absolutely flies. This vehicle has more features/options/gadgets on it than a Cadillac or Lexus. QUALITY-You've got to test drive one for yourself!
