2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo - LS

    Pros: Looks and performance

Cons: Too many rattles at first, but Dealer looked after me

Advice: Some kind of striping, not the big ugly stuff either, to accent the fenders and quarters

I went looking for a 4 door and ended up with my 2003 2 door Monte Carlo instead. As soon as i saw it, with it's bowtie headlights, radical roof and distinctive trunk lid, i had to test drive. On the highway it does all i want it to do and that is pass in a hurry if need be. This car has more than enough power without the harsh sound and poor gas mileage of the 3.8 ( I drive a 3.8 Impala at work and it's a pig compared to the 3.4 ) A tank of gas lasts me three weeks. It is a very unique looking car and i get alot of positive comments, there arn't very many here where i live and those that see it love it. Ignore my Zip, I'm from Canada!!

2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo - SS

Pros: Well the comfort is nice, but in an SS that shoudn't be the main priority.

Cons: It's an SS model with a V6 engine, also there are absolutely no aftermaket parts available for this car.

Advice: If you like comfort and not much power this is the car for you.

I thought the car would have much more power then it had. I was very upset that Chevrolet threw SS on the vehicle with a V6 engine. No wonder the sales of this car have dropped significantly this year. If chevrolet is going to make an SS model they need to at least make it with a powerful V8 engine. Poor decision by Chevrolet in my opinion.

2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo - LS

    Pros: Strong V-6.

Cons: The fact that it came with a cassette player and no CD player. Does anyone still use cassette??

Advice: Find a 2004 with the rebate soon. You can get one heck of a deal on it!!!

I got this vehicle as a prior rental. I got it $6000 below sticker and still got the rebate. MY monthly payments went down $85 from the 2001 I traded in!! So far, I like this car. It is big and safe for me and my son. It does have some get up and go. No need to rev it up to 5000 RPM's to get the power. Just stomp on the gas and it goes. I got a decent sized car for the price I would have paid for a compact and I got some really good features. I even got the dealer to install my cd changer for free. Not bad huh??? This vehicle is not for everyone since I know most younger people think of the Monte as a 'old geezer car' Well, I'm 37 and not a geezer!! Its a nice ride with some get up and go. If you want a car with good features, good ride, and are not too worried about your 0-60 times, t hen this is it.

2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo - LS

Pros: Everything ! From the performance, looks, and comfort (leather interior and heated seats) to the high quality sound system.

Cons: The fact that I bought it used and it has no ashtray or lighter. Must have belonged to a non-smoker..It's cool though, I bought an ashtray that fits in the cupholder.

Advice: Test Drive one, and see for yourself! Don't even bother with the smaller sporty looking cars, there is no comparison!

This car is one sweet ride!!! I fell in love with it in the showroom. I've waited 27 years of my 'driving' life for something sporty (raised 4 children first, driving sedans) Growing up in the 70's, cars like this always got my attention and fast. Now I finally own one! My car turns heads everywhere it goes. Gotta love that. I was afraid to get the SS solely because of insurance rates. The LS looks just as good. The only thing it doesn't have is a spoiler. It doesn't matter though, driving this car will make you feel like you are on top of the world! The comfort of the leather interior and heated seats will be much appreciated during winter driving in upstate New York. We travel downstate at least once a year and the long drive will be as comfortable as driving to town, I'm sure. The sound system is fantastic, as I have always liked my music loud. There is no distortion as there was with my old car. The power moonroof is awesome when the sun streams in making me feel as wild and untamed as the car looks. No matter how old you are, you will love this car! My husband says I am living my second 'teenhood' with it, and you know, he is absolutely right! This car is a dream with a happy ending! It had only 4400 miles on it when I bought it, as close to new as I wanted with an $6000.00 sticker price less than it would have cost me for a brand new one. Worth the price? Absolutely!! If you want something that looks sporty, yet drives with the comfort of a luxury car, look no further, this car is it! The dependability of a Chevy with the 'pick-up' and 'looks' of the other 'performance' cars in it's class, (Trans Am, Camaro, GTO, and even Vettes)yet the comfort of a Cadillac.

2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo - SS

    Pros: Body Style

Cons: Rear Passenger Seatbelts are a hassle

Advice: Get one..Make sure its a SS and with factory Graphics. Get a White/Silver quarter Panels

I own a 2003 SS. I would LOVE to se more performance options in this Veh if its representing NASCAR. I have the 3.8 SS 2003 and turned it into a exact replica of the Indy pace car..Really Super Sharp..Turns heads, but wish I had the Supercharger or can get more HP..200 hp does not do this veh justice. What is Chev thinking. All in all, I'm 57 yrs of age, male, and just love driving this SS. Makes me feel 18 again.

2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo - LS

    Pros: Overall Value

Cons: Can't believe no glove box light available!

Advice: test drive both LS and SS models before you buy

Smooth and comfortable big car feel. Handles bumps well and minimal road and outside noise. Very quiet! Engine accelerates smoothly. Nice cruising car for long trips down the turnpike. Good braking too! You will think Caddilac on overall feel for a lot less money! However overall quality of workmanship and materials don't quite meet that standard! Plus the car is a real headturner on looks and a nice overall package.
