Cons: Gas Cap
Advice: The 2005 Lt Top options for less money!!!!!! Search the internet and pay tons less....I am speachless!! This car is the best car Ive ever owned. It has it all. Power, looks, good gas mileage. It has every option and more. I bought the top model and because I bought it used with (30000 miles) I got a GREAT price plus certified!! The gas cap was the only thing Im changing because it didnt come with a locking one. I had the dealership order one.... I AM SOOOOO HAPPY!!!!
Cons: SKY LIGHTS terrrible terrible terrible!!
Advice: fun to drive and priced right.Purchased 05 Maxx LT w/dvd player. It is fun to drive and handles well have 10,500 miles and took it on 600mile trip handled and drove well the seats got a little uncomfortable the last couple of hrs but over all OK 32miles per gallon going 75-78. You do get road noise. We did not get a remote with the dvd and they said we wouldn't need one but that was not true cuz some movies won't start with out it. Absolutely HATE THE SKY LIGHTS (I call them) over the back seats! That should be an option!!
Pros: Remote start is fantastic. I hope I'm not wasting too much gas from using it. Also, the hatchback is a must!
Cons: Not a dislike, just a wish-list comment: The remote start needs an indicator to let the user know if successful remote start has been achieved. Also, needs greater range than 200 feet.
Advice: Try the LT if you want, but pay attention to the options packages. They are all different. Odds are, you will find an LS with everything you want and you won't need an LT. Plus, some things, like the DVD headrests, are upgradable later.I wanted this car before I even tested it and luckily, I was not let down. I even test drove the LT first, just to see if I couldn't live with an LS. As it turns out there are very few advantages to the LT. The LS has the same engine, moonroof and powerseats. Depending on the options package, the LT will have XM radio, controls on the steering wheel, etc. However, the main cost for the LT is the leather interior. I must say, in the 2005s, the leather interior was low quality. We test drove an LS and found zero difference in speed, handling, comfort. Over all, a very quiet ride, fast but with a very smooth engine accelleration, extremely practical. Wide wheel base for stability, but still a compact frame overall, very sporty. I am a very satisfied customer.
Pros: Hmm....DVD or remote start???
Cons: I wish the skylights would have been an option and not a standard.
Advice: Drive it !!!!!! Give it some GAS !!! You will love the look and power.WOW! I went from a Tahoe to a Maxx...Big change huh. Well to my surprise, I absolutely love the Malibu Maxx. I am getting the gas mileage that I need and the look and comfort that I want. Lots of room ! Many features. The DVD player is AWESOME for my little twins. The remote start is great ! I call it my 'grocery getter'. I am very happy with the car overall. It also has that 'GET UP AND GO' that I really like !!!! Test drive a Maxx before you make up your mind.
Cons: That I didn't get fog lights (my fault)
Advice: Check out the service requirementsFirst car I have ever taken my wife for a test drive in and she said to buy it! Liked the looks, likes the interior and was blown away by the performance. Having the power of 200 horses with four wheel disc brakes and anti lock-traction control is a dream come true. Love my sun roof and the two mini sun roofs in the back, feels like a convertable without the burnt head. Gas mileage was better than I thought, but I have to keep myself from trying to do the race car experience that this car will provide if you want it to, I'm sure it must lower the GPM's by something when you can get up to 100 mph before you realize it. Yes very quiet and comfortable.... Check out the maintenance schedule, will beat Toyota and Honda or anyone else by a mile!
