Pros: sliding rear seat
Cons: colorIt is a very dependable vehicle and has quite a bit of storage room in the back.
Pros: It rides smoothly when it is working good.
Cons: The noise it makes when I start driving from my brakes.
Advice: Please ensure that you have a quality vehicle before you pull off that lot!!1I purchased a 2006 Equinox in June of 2006. I have encountered numerous problems with it and I have not been assisted by GM warranty department. My brakes pulsate, and my turning radius makes noises when I turn to the right, not the type of clicking associated with bad CV joints. My transmission is appearing to be slipping and I was told by one mechanic that the transmission is sealed and is supposed to be maintenance free.
Pros: The rental car I get when I take it in for service
Cons: Mechanic Probelms
Advice: Dont buy this carThe exterior of the car looks okay. Not to many problems with the exterior. Mechanically it has been an absolute nightmare. The engine is hard to start when warm, or when the weather is cold. The back has a squeak, or rattling noise when I go over bumps. The CD player has burned up 3 times already. I have a transmission that has problems shifting from 2-3rf gear. The engine constantly has a squeak or small knock when started. The interior is cheap and very hard to keep clean. GAS MILEAGE SUCKS. Dealer cannot 'duplicate' any of these problems, and denies anything is wrong. They have had the car in service more than I have The only reason this car is somewhat decent is because it kept me alive in an accident where a jeep wrangler T-boned me right on the drivers side door. I walked out with nothing more than a stiff neck. Other than that
Pros: The pep
Cons: The transmission
Advice: Buy and prayThis is a wonderful car. I've wanted it since 1st sight. The only problem I've encountered is the TRANSMISSION. When slowing down at 20 mphs, there is a kick then downshift. It happens during slowing down from a high rate of speed and low rate of speed. One dealer says that it is something that happens and others says it's not. The dealership I purshed it from will not fix it because they can't duplicate the problem. My warranty is out in 8,000 miles. I spoke to a Product Associate @ the Dallas Auto Show, who said he will have someone contact me. I also took the shop foreman @ transmission specialist riding, but of course nothing happen. I would welcome any repairs that Chevy can give me. I do recommend this SUV just not the repairs. Is their anyone else with this PROBLEM?
Cons: Liked it all
Advice: Beware of rotors--warranty only turns them twice then you're stuck paying for new ones.Love the vehicle--but I have had it for leas than 2 years and have had to have the rotors turned twice--it has only 18,000 miles. The first time was 3000 miles. It isn't my driving, I only drive it on trips (interstate trips), we bought it to have for the 'good' car. I have a 1999 S-10 pick-up with over 106,000 miles and have NEVER had to turn the rotors and I drive it all the time. The dealer said it was because I live in the country and the rotors get hot from the start-stop routine????? I thought that was in town, if I start-stopped on the major highway I live on, I would be dead--if not from an accident, from someone being really upset with my driving. I will not buy another one.
Advice: Buy it..... you will love it... the more you drive it the better it getsLove it... The first time I ever saw the vechile I thought how could one vechile be so UGLY. then it grew on me and I found the Black Amythemst color with the cloth gray interior and feel in love. It drives great, handles like a dream it is like floating on clouds. I am proud to be the owner and driver!
