    2005 Chevrolet Equinox

    One of the best

Pros: The looks and the tail gate feature

Cons: The Y shape center console

Though it was tated average by consumer reports it is one of the best out there. Since the consumer report apeared with less than 5ooo miles on it I think they need to revisit it and see how they would rate it after a 100000 miles?

2005 Chevrolet Equinox - LS AWD

    Pros: Style

Cons: Color of the instrument panel lights (I like amber)

    Advice: Every brand has lemons

Just bought the LS AWD. I had test driven this car and had been looking at another vehicle to purchase for about 1 year. Our other car is a Nissan Altima 2.5S. I am 6'1' and weigh about 250. This Equinox fits me like a glove. I have 2 children (6yrs & 19mo) and I can fit a car seat, child and adult with plenty of room in the back seat. I traded in a Caravan for this and though I am loosing the third row seat, the overall comfort for everyone has improved. I can't say as to how reliable it will be, though I think that has more on how you keep up on maintenance than anything else. I also tested allot of other vehicles before choosing this one. Style, comfort, safety, ride and driveability won me over big time. Also, while it doesn't have as high of HP as some other V6 SUV's in it's class, the (higher than most) torque will push you back in your seat and put a little smile on your face when you punch it from a stop. ( The FWD models can squeal the tires a little )

2005 Chevrolet Equinox - LS FWD

    Pros: Exterior Styling

    Cons: Overpriced

Advice: IF you like the styling and cannot afford a Lexux 330 go for this!

I've owend the vehicle for 40k miles and love it. It IS grossly overpriced, should have heated mirrors and seats. I opted for the better stereo with XM Radio and am not sorry. The vehicle drives like a car, the motor is strong and on long drives (6plus hrs) I get around 23 mpg using the crisue control. The interior is cheap, cheap, cheap.. for the price i'd expect more.. but I fell in love wiht the exterior. I was disappointed it did not come with 4 wheel disk brakes, this was a mistake Chevy made on the 2005's that I think they will fis on 2007's.

2005 Chevrolet Equinox - LT AWD

Pros: Can't name just one. This is my favorite vehicle.

Cons: The seats stain too easily and are VERY difficult to clean

Advice: Put seat covers on to maintain the seats for trade in later

The test drive just affirmed what I had already researched. It has a great safety rating, handles wonderfully and when the AWD does kick in it does so with little shock to the driver.

2005 Chevrolet Equinox - LS FWD

    Pros: style

    Cons: road noise

Advice: go with after market leather

have driven our equinox for 16 months now. handles great, lots of leg & head room. we had after market leather put on seats due to better quality/lower price and it was added in our financing. great move. our only complaints about the car is it doesn't seem to be getting the gas mileage that was advertised, and the road noise. my husband thinks if we would have upgraded to better tires, it would help both problems.
