It may be hard to believe, but the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro already signals the end of the fifth generation of the Bowtie muscle car, which was brought back to life in 2009 after a multi-year hiatus through the early 2000s. And with Chevy having sold some 400,000 examples since that re-launch, the decision to celebrate with a 2015 Chevrolet Camaro Commemorative Edition was an easy one.

According to Todd Christensen, Camaro marketing manager: “The fifth-generation Camaro was a success from the moment it was introduced, in attracting both long-time Camaro fans and new buyers who have never owned a Chevrolet. We wanted to create a special edition Camaro that celebrates that success as the fifth generation comes to a close as the end of the model year.”

With that in mind, the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro Commemorative Edition will be available based on the upper-level 2LT and 2SS trims, with owners able to choose from five different exterior color themes: Black or Silver Ice Metallic with Cyber Gray striping, Summit White or Ashen Gray Metallic with a silver stripe, or Red Hot with a black stripe. Additional appearance enhancements include a body-color front splitter and the same rear spoiler that adorns the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, matched by model-specific 20-inch wheels.

All 2015 Chevrolet Camaro Commemorative Editions also wear an exclusive Adrenaline Red interior, highlighted by two-tone Adrenaline Red/black seating surfaces, an Adrenaline Red instrument panel insert, and red stitching for the leather-wrapped, flat-bottomed steering wheel, shift knob and boot, door-trim armrest, and center-console lid.

With a price yet to be determined, the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro Commemorative Edition is expected to reach dealerships in the spring of next year—but it won't be the only special Camaro model rolling out for the new model year.

Also expected to go on sale in the first quarter of the new year is a custom-look 2015 Chevrolet Camaro SS that showcases an exclusive Emerald Green Metallic finish and the Camaro's first crowd-sourced name. The "Green Flash" also serves up 21-inch "Chrome Dusk" wheels from Chevrolet Accessories, a body-color ground-effects package, dual Cyber Gray racing stripes and more.
