2004 Chevrolet Aveo - LS Sedan

    Pros: Smooth and quiet operation

Cons: Expected more than 33 mpg

Advice: Buy japanese if you seem to have trouble with cars you have owned previously

Seats are comfortable. The engine is fast enough for the small car. Very quiet for a small car. Braking is good. Only surprise that it doesn't get much higher than 33 mpg fuel economy. Have owned for three years and have had no repairs outside oil changes, and one free warranty repair. So if you know how to take care of a car, this car can be bought and owned for a very small amount of money.

2004 Chevrolet Aveo - LS Sedan

    Pros: gas milage

    Cons: handling

    Advice: not for new/unexperienced drivers!!

Great on gas milage, but it has to be 80 degrees and no wind, to have a safe comfortable drive. i dont reccomend for teens or new drivers. its cheap, and the interior is classy, but i cant wait to get rid of it!! i definately do not feel safe in that car.

2004 Chevrolet Aveo - LS Sedan

    Pros: Interior room

    Cons: Stereo/Underpowerd Engine

Advice: Good overall vehicle (ESPECIALLY for the price)

I am really satisfied with this car. Looks like a little toy from the outside, but it changes the second you sit in it. The response from everybody that gets in it is, 'Wow, it's big in here.' I have the 5 door hatch model with the spoiler, and I'm very pleased with the overall look. Victory Red helps, too. :) It is very stable at high speeds (No, I didn't have it at 110 on the interstate!) The controls are very driver friendly. Easy to see around the car and driving it isn't a hastle. Accelerates smooth, but lacks in hp and torque. Good gas mileage on highway, which is what I travel alot. I put a Bazooka tube subwoofer in the hatch, and it sounds Amazing! I suggest it for a cheap and easy solution to the turd stereo system. However, the MP3 player is great! Get power, because you HAVE to lock the drivers door with the key if you don't. Great car for around 10,000 bucks! Can't beat it. Any questions about it, email me mike3292321@yahoo.com

2004 Chevrolet Aveo - Special Value Hatchback

    Pros: seats and color

Cons: stereo system and gas mileage

Advice: buy a Toyota Echo if you can find it!!

The best thing about the Aveo is the price. The seats are fairly comfortable. It has no acceleration and the stereo is terrible. I did have a 2002 Toyota Echo that I loved and thats what I really wanted to buy but unfortunately I couldn't find them anywhere. For such a small car I thought the gas mileage would be better but I only get 27 in the city. I did buy an automatic so that may make a little bit of difference. The appearance of the car is very similar to the Echo ( odd looking but I think it's cute.) Overall, not a bad car for the price.

2004 Chevrolet Aveo - LS Sedan

    Pros: CD/MP3 Player

Cons: Initial MPG was 22.6 in a 50/50 mix of city/highway driving

Advice: Great Value! Looks small but is roomy and quiet on the road.

For a sub-compact, the feature set is ok. I went with the LS, so the only missing things are the power locks & windows, keyless, abs, sunroof. For what looks to be small, they have crammed alot of space in the cabin and the trunk. The CD/MP3 radio is a great feature that sounds out quite nicely. The AC is cold and works well in this 100 degree TX heat. The ride is smooth and road/engine noise is amazingly minimal. Steering is responsive and the brakes are quick to stop the car. I can ride with the AC on low, background music barely on and not hear the engine at all. So far, my first tank netted 22.6 mpg with a 50/50 mix of hwy and city driving, so I'm going to give it a few more tanks before letting GM take a look. I'm seeing much higher numbers from other owners, yet haven't seen it myself. I've ordered the aftermarket Cruise Control. Wish it had an armrest and lit visor mirrors.

2004 Chevrolet Aveo - LS Hatchback

Pros: cd player, keyless remote entry, and the total look

Cons: the insurance increase, up $44 a month

Advice: it is economical, I have 2 small children and could not afford a big payment every month so it fit well into my buget

2004 Chevrolet Aveo - LS Sedan

Pros: interior room and gas mileage

Cons: no cruise/cup holders block controls

Advice: don't expect a high end ride

This little car has surpassed my expectations of a subcompact. It is zippy to drive in the summer (A/C works great) and although it is a lighter car, it has been great in the winter. (alot of snow here, so the height under car is ideal) The hold button helps get it going at icy intersections. Had a problem with the fan (needed a new resistor) and the anti-theft had a glitch too. All looked after now and running great! Take the highway to work and car may sway a bit in hard winds but easy to handle just the same.
