Pros: comfort and seating size
Cons: gas hog
Advice: If you need a work/family truck this is it. Very versitileDrove it and loved it. Very roomy, comfortable, stylish. Great for towing and plenty of room for hauling stuff. Draw back, be prepared to watch your gas tank go ......gulp.
Pros: Looks and ride.
Cons: Fuel mileage on 8.1L engine.
Advice: Buy one. They are a BLASTThis is a GREAT idea from GM. It is fun to drive and people always want to take a closer look inside. Ride is really good and the handling is OK for this size vehicle. The main problem I have is the fuel mileage on the 8.1L engine. I get 10 MPG in town or on the highway. I am looking at a Hypertech module to help the mileage. Also, 8 lug wheels limit possible wheel changes.
Pros: The overall look & the midgate.
Cons: That Chevy is letting Cadilac use the midgate idea & the overall look
Advice: This is the pickup for anyoneWe first saw this vehicle in an Oct '99 automobile magazine and wanted it instantly. We didn't get our Avalanche until June 2001 even though we ordered it in February 2001. But it was worth waiting for. We got the full package including warm seats, phone and sunroof. The Avalanche handles extremely well in all weather. Excellent to 4-wheel in. The midgate is so easy to use that my 9 year old daughter takes it down or puts it up by herself.
Pros: The engine
Cons: The brand name 'chevy'
Advice: buy this car it is nice even thought it is a chevyThe ride was great nice and comfortable and you could feel the power under your foot if you pushed the gas the thing took off it was nice and comforatable and easy to switch
Pros: Functionality - Hands down
Cons: Rather hard to park
Advice: Get the running boards...it sets rather high off the groundI first heard about the new Avalanche in the office where it was refered to as a 'what the Sport Trac wants to be'. That about sums it up. It drives like a luxury car (albeit a large one) but has the versitility and function of a truck. What could be better. I get stares and looks wherever I drive it. Really a well thought out and well developed vehicle.
