Advice: Save $$$ by buying a slightly experienced oneWhat an amazingly versatile vehicle! The Avalanche handles like a Caddy yet can be converted to haul drywall in a matter on minutes! Plenty of room for 5 adults inside, with enough cargo room in the bed for all of their gear... The performance is not lacking, although the brakes seem a bit undersized for the weight of the truck. can't say enough about it...have haulled a kayak on the roof, camping gear for 3 for a week in the back + the adults. Have driven 15 hours straight without even the hint of a sore back - just an amazing product
Pros: The whole car, sunroof, and roominess
Cons: the price is a little high, but isn't everything now adays except geo's?
Advice: Buying a used one to save a little money is something to think about, they're still greatIt handles just like a cadilac, smooth as a baby's bottom. It's very roomy for larger adults. It also cleans well which is always an issue for a mother of 3. It's got great pickup and I always feel safe for me and my children.
Pros: Interior room, fun to drive, and it's looks
Cons: gas mileage
Advice: don't get over your head with options, they drive up the price fastDrove like a dream, easy to handle, pulls my Airstream as if it wasn't there along with three bikes on the roof or two bikes and the canoe and all the gear & stuff in the cargo area without getting anything dirty in the cab section
Pros: not everone has one like the f150
Cons: gas miles around 10 miles a gal. in city have 4.10 gears dont get
Advice: take you time check all your opt.It rides real nice has good power, but it likes to drink alot it gets poor gas miles.PLUS ground plastic cant be painted the same as truck . and bigger tires are not op.
Pros: Driving the avalanche. The bold look
Cons: Rain, snow and not being able to keep clean.
Advice: If you thought about buying one in 2002 and didn't buy one in '03Great overall vehicle. Family fun ride.
Pros: Smooth/Quiet Ride - rare feel for a 'TRUCK'
Cons: It's a tie Gas Mileage & Rear Blind Spot
Advice: Get the Convienence PackageSmooth acceleration, quiet ride, great handling. I cannot think of a more versitile vehicle.
Pros: I need a truck infrequently - the Avalanche is perfect!
Cons: See # 2 above - GM NEEDS TO REDESING THE BLOWER
Advice: If comfortHave Owned it one year. 1. More comfortable and a better overall ride than my previous vehicle, a 1999 Cadillac Deville. 2. There is only one serious flaw and it is consistant with most GM pickups and SUV's the fan housing for the HVAC needs to be moved further into the engine compartment and out of the way of the passenger. At worst GM could take some space from the glove box and give the people more space.
