Cons: Small back seat
Advice: Buy the extend cab with the 4.3 liter engineThis is my 2nd S-10 4X4. I've owned a Ranger, B-4000, and a Tacoma. This is by far a better truck than any other I've owned. The powertrain of a 4.3, mated with either transmission has much more low-end torque than the others; I highly recommend the 3.73 rear differential. Going over the mountain passes in Colorado is a breeze with the S-10. Off-road, it has performed without a flaw. In my opinion, this is the best compact pickup made.
Pros: Good looks, and a smooth ride for an SUV.
Cons: The drivers seat is uncomfortabe for my 5'11' frame.
Advice: Order one with the features you want for a few hunderd over invoice.Impressive quickness and low end torque that gets you off the line around town. Although the 'on ramp' acceleration was good, the downshift and corresponding high rpm feels a bit uncomfortable. The suspension is very comfortable compared to our older Jeep Cherokee or the Xterra and was a big selling point for us. The steering is light and a pleasure to park in 'small car only' spaces. The bright red with the side-step bars is sporty and the overall looks are a 10. Fit and finish are good although I wish the doors closed without having to slam them shut. My biggest complaint is that I can't get comfortable in the seat. The bottom cushion feels too short like I'm sitting on a bench. My wife's 5'4' frame must be just right for it though because she doesn't feel my pain.
Cons: interior plastics
Advice: Buy it!!The car looks great! Drives like a luxury car. handles like a sports car. I love my Altima. If your in the market for a midsize sedan such as a camry or an accord. Test drive an alitma!!
Cons: remote trunk release location
Advice: you must test drive this car before buying another makeThis is my 3rd Quattro in 11 years, and this is the best (plus 2 Beemers). The 1.8T engine is amazing, but a 6 speed would help to bring the rev's down on the freeway. The standard suspension (w/16in wheels/all season tires) is outstanding, and plenty firm enough - unless you want to autocross! I'm 6ft, and rear seat room is fine, if you need more buy an A6. In short this is one terrific sport sedan.
Pros: Responce and handling
Cons: Goodyear O.E. tires, I removed them and replaced with Contintentals
Advice: Drive competing cars, and you will love this one.The DTS has plenty of power for anything you want to do. I was in west Texas on a long lonely road this summer, and it will do the 150 that it has on the speedo and more. Great driving car, better than Lexis and BMW. As long as Cadillac makes cars like this, I will never go back to foreign make again!
Cons: Hard to read guages because of red pointers on a black background
Advice: Buy it and you will love it. Search until you find a dealer willing to bargain.Great Car. I replaced my 1997 ES300 with a 2002 Lexus ES300. Lexus has added many creature comforts to this car. The fit and trim is excellent. The car is roomy and quiet. However, I have two complaints. The car sometimes hesitates and flutters upon acceleration. Also, the guages are sometimes difficult to read in the sunlight because the pointers are red on a black background. The Lexus engineers should have known better. My Saturn has white pointers on a black blackground and provides great contrast.
Pros: Storage capacity
Cons: the 5 CD player means no tape player
Advice: GO FOR IT!I absolutely LOVE this vehicle. It has the room & performance of a SUV, with the gas mileage of a van. I was amazed at the gas mileage. I also love the storage spaces in this vehicle. Even a place for my purse! No more sliding all over the car. In other words, this is my favorite car ever! (and I'm an old woman who has had a lot of cars)
