Pros: The comfey seats.
Cons: The bumpiness.
Advice: Buy it!Totaly tubeular dude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pros: the tail lights
Cons: the cheap interior
Advice: dealers won't haggle to much on the priceI was very impressed with the vehicles outside appearance, but after getting inside and looking around I would say Nissan has a long way to go as far as the interior is concerned. The dash and controls are very 'plasticy' and cheap, I was very un-impressed overall with the vehicle.
Pros: 1.8 T engine
Advice: Test drive first.I have had my 2002 1.8T manual for 4 months. So far there has been no problem except some rattles on bumpy road at the drive's and passenge's doors. It's fun to drive, very comfortable, and safe. With the peppy 1.8T engine it accelerates fast. The fuel economy is quite good - so far it averaged 28-30 MPG with mix driving (10% city and 90% highway). I love the car!
Pros: My favorite feature is the Command-Trac Partime 4-Wheel Drive.
Cons: The only thing I don't like but expected was the poor gas millage 14/16.
Advice: Iffuel economy is high on your list than this is not the vehicle for you.The 6cyl Tech I provides more than enough power for play and everyday driving. In less than 2000 miles I have already experinced mud, snow, sleet, rain and hard off road terain and overall I would say the Wrangler X lives up to the Jeep Wrangler name. Handling is very smooth and the 4 wheel drive on demand is a nice transition and not as noisy or worysum as the sales person lead me to believe.
Pros: Peppy 1.8T is great! Heated seats are nice.
Cons: Cupholder location could be better
Advice: Nice car for the money. Very happy with it.Nice solid car for the price. Nice option packages. Drives really well. Virtually no road noise at highway speeds.
Pros: Rally package.
Cons: Exhaust system.
Advice: Take advantage of the Mitsu offers. Get the OZ Rally package(it's worth it). This car is fun to drive. It's got fantastic handling and great pick-up for it's class. It's got a great look on the outside (spoiler a must have!) and under the hood it's just as pretty. It's also suprisingly roomy for a car it's size. (Hey, you try and put a 6'4' guy in the back seat of your car, I'm serious it worked) It's a great car for in town and highway driving. He has manuverability and the get-up-and-go to do either.
Pros: Rear wheel drive
Cons: lack of power and uncomfortable seats
Advice: look elsewhere. If you must, definitely buy the largest (4.0L) engine!!!This Ranger is an extended cab with the 3.0L V6. The seats are among the most uncomfortable I have ever used. Fuel economy is dismal at 14 in the city and 16.5 on the road. The 3.0L engine is very sluggish. 0-60 is around 13 seconds. A 1998 Windstar with the 3.0L V6 can easily best this by 2.5 seconds while getting 4 - 6 mpg better fuel economy. Unless you feel compelled to drive a small sluggish uncomfortable pickup, your money would be better spent elsewhere. Passing performance is a joke. This vehicle borders on dangerous with respect to pickup needed to safely merge into freeway traffic. If you look at the engine specs and weight of the vehicle on paper, it looks as if it should have more then acceptable performance, but in reality, it feels like driving a mid 80's Chrysler K car. Obviously Ford did not pay attention to owners of past versions of this vehicle. We have several in our fleet replacing Ford Windstar vans. Not one person driving this vehicle has anything good to say about it.
