    2002 Nissan Maxima - GLE (A4)

    Pros: everything

    Cons: nothing

Advice: check this out, you will be surprised

The Nissan Maxima is definitely a great vehicle. For drivers looking for the comfort, conveinance and performance of a high end vehicle without the high end price this is the best. I purchased a 2001 Nissan Maxima GLE about a year ago. I have never been happier with any car than I have with this one. The Maxima looks very stylish, the vehicle rides very smoothly, performance is outstanding. The controls are easily accessable and front and rear seat comfort is impressive. The rear seat heaters can only be utilized when the front ones are on. Trunk space is generous and steering wheel mounted radio/cruise control buttons are convenient. I also installed aftermarket Stillen air intake which boosted the performance and sound. When purchasing this vehicle, make sure to see the dealer invoice, so you have a price to work off. When considering a mid size sedan, definitely check this one out!

2002 Land Rover Discovery - SE

    Pros: style, capabilities, handling

Cons: small rear seat and side view mirrors

Advice: This is a great, versatile vehicle for a fair price

The Land Rover Discovery II is a great vehicle. The price is relatively good for what this vehicle has to offer. With the Discovery's impeccable reputation for off road capability, the vehicle has a surprisingly smooth and luxurious ride. The controls are located in different places compared to most vehicles, but take little time to become accustomed to. The vehicles corners better than most others of the same size. Acceleration is impressive from a rather docile 4.0L engine with a mere 188 bhp. The CD changer is a little akward to access, especially from the driver seat. The side view mirrors are rather small and the vehicle lacks automatic lights. The rear seats are difficult to access, especially for tall individuals. Other than that, the vehicle is well equipped and comfortable. I just purchased my 2002 Blenheim Silver Disco II SE. I opted for the lightstone leather, finding it easier on the eyes. Included at cost were additional wood trim, wheel locks, running boards and front and rear brush guards. The selection is limited, since LR only produces around 70k Discos per year. And with the introduction of the Freelander most Discos were shipped early this year. As far as service, there is a no haggle policy involved, which simply means customers will not spend the entire day at LR debating price. The service department is very helpful and friendly. My experiences at LR have been very pleasant and a big change from the service I was accustomed to at Ford. The warranty is 4 yr/50k miles. Oil changes are free for the life of the vehicle in addition to a free loaner for customers 21+ yrs of age. LR also tries to wash and vacuum your vehicle per service. So far, I am very satisfied with my owner experience.

    2002 Saturn L-Series - L300 (A4) Sedan

    Pros: The ride and performence

Cons: I wish it had all wheel drive

Advice: Before you buy go test drive a Saturn L-300, I did and I am glad I did.

If you are considering any other cars in this class, before you buy go to a Saturn dealer. I did and bought that day I was so impressed. The service and the entire process was so easy. I will buy another Saturn definately.

    2002 GMC Envoy - SLT 4x4

Pros: The in-line 6 is awesome

    Cons: poor quality

Advice: I echo the person that said wait a year (MT truck of the year or not)

Purchased my Envoy in June and LOVE everything about it when it works properly. I have already visited the Dealer several times to repair a fluid leak (resulting from an improperly installed drive shaft), an inability to shift out of park, r. window wash that didn't work, console with a major squeak, and now my heat does not seem to work properly. This could be a phenominal vehicle - could you get the quality up PLEASE?

    2002 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 - 4x4

Pros: Flexibility - it is a truck , it is an SUV, it drives on the highway like a Suburban

    Cons: Nothing

Advice: Just be interested in a big vehicle - same size as a Suburban

I bought one. GM is kicking Ford's b----. If you are serious about off roading, camping and driving in snow - this is the truck for you.

    2002 Lexus IS 300 - Manual Sedan

    Pros: inline-6

Cons: too cramped in the rear passenger area

Advice: look into getting the A4 quattro 6sp for the same price

The car handles nicely, but it is missing a lot of the amenities that the Audi A4 has. Such as, memory seats, heated rear, dual climate control, 6sp, awd, power trunk release, air bag release based on impact, rear seats fold down, 12-way electronically adjustable seats, free oil changes and scheduled services and a lot of rear legroom. The Lexus' rear passenger space is very limited and the seats do not come down to have access to the rear (only a ski pass-through in the armrest).
