After last week’s shocking poll results—in which more than half of all readers indicated they simply aren’t interested in electric vehicles—Autobytel decided to investigate further, and find out why not.
And the No. 1 factor preventing poll-takers from purchasing EVs? Their limited range, which was an issue for 44 percent of you. Cost was the main concern for another 25 percent of today’s voters, although, just for the sake of argument, it must be noted that some EVs are now priced below $20,000 when the federal tax credit is figured into the cost equation.
Also capturing noticeable attention from survey respondents in the current survey were concerns over the newness of the technology (with 19 percent of the votes) and a lack of public charging stations (the answer for 9 percent of readers).
