What factor is most important when purchasing a used car?
Last year, franchised auto dealers in this country sold more than 15.6 million pre-owned vehicles, and the market for used cars and trucks continues to garner significant attention this year, too. But what is it specifically about those used vehicles that is garnering attention from prospective purchasers? According to Autobytel’s latest auto poll, most folks are concentrating on the condition of the vehicles. In fact, more than twice as many people put their emphasis on how well a vehicle has held up over the years than on saving money or manufacturer certification, which tied for second-place in our survey.
Sellers who try to leverage factory warranties to sell used vehicles, however, may want to take note: Exactly zero percent of Autobytel readers considered that protection to be important when shopping for pre-owned transportation.
