How many miles do you have on your car or truck?
According to a recent study by R.L. Polk—a top third-party source of data about the U.S. auto industry—the average vehicle on the road today is more than 11 years old. And that kind of longevity means more and more drivers are seeing six figures and then some on their odometers—led by Irv Gordon. The New York native is believed to have driven further in his personal vehicle than any other driver before, and is now approaching 3 million miles on his 1966 Volvo P1800S. Yet even if Autobytel readers have yet to approach that milestone, but it is worth pointing out that nearly 12 percent of the survey respondents in our recent poll have crested the 200,000-mile mark, while approximately 45 percent have gone beyond 100,000 miles.
