What Is The Nissan Easy-Fill Tire Alert?

The Nissan Easy-Fill Tire Alert is a system that makes it easy to inflate the vehicle’s tires to the proper pressure. The system is available on many of Nissan’s models, including the Altima, Versa Note, Pathfinder, and Quest. When the vehicle’s tire pressure warning system detects a low tire it displays an alert for the driver (possibly also indicating which tire is low, and its current pressure, depending on the system). Drivers should then stop at the nearest air pump in order to fill the tire. Driving on under-inflated tires can triple the risk of an accident and decrease fuel economy by up to 3.3 percent.

With traditional systems you would need to locate or purchase a tire pressure gauge in order to ensure proper inflation of the tires. With the Easy-Fill Tire Alert system you simply start putting air into the tire. The vehicle will activate its four-way flashers when it starts to detect the increased pressure caused by the air entering the tire. When the tire reaches the proper pressure the horn chirps to let you know that the tire has been fully inflated. If the tire is further inflated the horn will honk more aggressively to warn you of over-inflation. In this case once enough air has been released to reach the proper pressure the horn will again chirp to let you know that the tire is at spec.
