What Is The Honda Earth Dreams V6?

The Honda Earth Dreams V6 is a 3.5l engine currently found in Honda’s Accord that meets ULEV-2 emissions standards. The SOHC 24-valve V6 engine is equipped with i-VTEC,which regulates the opening of the intake and exhaust valves depending on engine speed, improving both performance and fuel economy. The engine is also fitted with Variable Cylinder Management (or VCM), where the engine can run on three or six cylinders depending on driving conditions and throttle positon. The engine makes 278 HP and 252 lb-ft of torque in the Accord while still getting fuel economy numbers of 21 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway; the engine alone improves fuel economy by 10% and performance by 5%. The Earth Dreams V6 is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission with Grade Logic Control. The transmission is more compact and efficient than the older 5-speed transmission, and significantly improves both acceleration and fuel economy.
