The Acura Blind Spot Information (or BSI) System is available on many of Acura’s vehicles to help making changing lanes easier and safer for the driver. If the system detects another vehicle in or near one of your car’s ‘alert zones’ (the vehicle’s blind spots) a warning indicator will appear on the appropriate windshield A-pillar. If the driver ignores the warning and activates the turn signal to change lanes the system will flash the pillar light. In order to avoid disturbing the driver and passengers and becoming an annoyance the system does not use any audible warning tones. The system also only becomes active at speeds above 6 mph, and so is not triggered during parking, at stop lights, or in stop and go traffic.
