AcuraLink First Generation is a system that uses a satellite link to provide data, information, and messages to the driver. Depending on the vehicle the system can provide traffic information through the navigation system using AcuraLink Real-Time Traffic as well as weather data and forecasts using AcuraLink Real-Time Weather. When paired with a bluetooth phone some systems also include AcuraLink Automated Appointments to make, reschedule, or cancel service appointments, and AcuraLink Messaging to receive messages and display them on the navigation system's display or have them read out to you.

AcuraLink The Next Generation is a feature currently available on a few of Acura's newest models. The system comes standard with realtime freeway and surface street traffic for three years. At the moment it also comes with a 90 day free trial of AcuraLink Premium, allowing you to use the full suite of Acuralink services. You can also pair the system with your smartphone to stream radio from Aha or Pandora. The system also allows you to access emails, texts, and tweets. With the Connect package you can check your car's vitals, lock or unlock doors, and set the alarm using a smartphone, tablet, or computer. You also get one-touch requests for roadside assistance as well as accident monitoring that can automatically send for emergency help. If you opt for the Premium package you get access to a live AcuraLink Concierge personal assistant 24 hours a day seven days a week who can make reservations, manage correspondence and even take dictation for you.
