Suzuki Intelligent All-Wheel Drive (i-AWD)

Intelligent All-Wheel-Drive (i-AWD™) is Suzuki's selectable all-wheel-drive system used on vehicles such as the SX4 sedan and crossover, including the Suzuki SX4 AWD Crossover. The system offers three selectable modes of operation. The standard mode keeps the vehicle in two-wheel-drive mode for normal operation on dry pavement to maximize mileage and power. The "i-AWD Auto" setting is useful for driving on ice and snow-covered roads. The auto-setting applies traction to the wheels that are slipping. The "i-AWD Lock" setting locks the AWD system and acts much in the same way as a traditional 4x4 system would function. The lock-setting allows for easier starts under unusually slippery conditions, or on snow-covered inclines.
