Cars to Keep Your Family Safe

Autobtel's Editor-in-Chief, Michelle Naranjo believes that family cars, like families, come in all shapes and sizes and no one vehicle fits every family. To illustrate that point, Autobytel gathered some of our favorite family vehicles to take a look at the features and technology newer cars offer to families - especially families with children still in car seats.

Minivans, larger SUVs, Crossovers, wagons and sedans - even compact sedans - offer a slew of safety features suitable for keeping families safe in the event of an accident.

Some of the highlights illustrated in our video are Honda Odyssey's 6-car seat capability and built-in vaccuum and the Subaru Outback's EyeSite View safety feature and eight airbags. The Ford Explorer and Fusion Hybrid have a feature that inflates the seat belts in the case of a crash, giving children an extra pad of protection. Even smaller cars that are found in more urban environments, are equipped with excellent safety features and spacious back seats that easily fit car seats. The Volvo XC70 wagon even offers a booster seat built into the back seat.

Autobytel is giving away 5 cars seats during National Child Passenger Safety Week!  Enter for a chance to win!  Drawings will take place September 15-19, 2014.
