DECKED Truck Bed Organizer and Storage System

The DECKED truck bed organizing system was inspired by the common needs of pickup truck owners. Pickup truck drivers really depend on their trucks to carry around everything they need, and it’s even been said that pickup owners live their lives out of the back of their trucks. Lance Meller, the founder of DECKED, and general manager Jake Peters took some time to chat with Autobytel for this video. DECKED is based in Idaho, and this product is American made. Other priorities for the DECKED system included an effective and efficient use of the truck bed’s space, an ergonomically optimized design for safety and comfort, and a weather proof finish for durability and protection. Prototype DECKED systems were built out of wood, but the finished version is made out of waterproof materials that can hold up to 200 pounds apiece. The drawers run on rollers, and they’re designed to close smoothly without interfering with the truck’s tailgate. The DECKED system is available for a large range of pickup truck models, and it is installed securely without drilling into the pickup’s bed. Once installed, the pickup bed maintains some of its cargo capacity, since the DECKED drawers do not come to the top of the bed, and the top of the system has a 2000-pound load rating.
