The 2010 Ford Taurus is Ford's full-size sedan flagship. Completely redesigned for the 2010 model year, the Ford Taurus is larger and features bolder styling than older editions of the car. The base Ford Taurus SE comes well equipped with power windows and door locks, cruise control, keyless entry, an MP3-capable CD player and a power driver's seat rounding out the list of standard gear. Moving up through the trim levels adds features like dual automatic climate control, rear parking sensors, SYNC entertainment and communications interface and even leather seats. Most versions of the 2010 Ford Taurus are motivated by a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that generates 263 horsepower and 249 lb-ft of torque. Matched with a six-speed transmission, fuel mileage for this unit comes in at 18 miles per gallon in city driving and 28 miles per gallon on the highway. All-wheel drive is available as an option with this motor. The Ford Taurus SHO significantly upgrades power thanks to the introduction of a twin-turbocharged EcoBoost version of that same 3.5-liter, six-cylinder engine. With 365 ponies and 350 lb-ft of torque sent through a six-speed automatic transmission to standard all-wheel drive, the vehicle's acceleration and handling are dramatically improved. Fuel mileage also remains almost identical to the standard engine, showing as 17 miles per gallon in the city and 25 miles per gallon on the highway.
