The 2011 Kia Sorento is a compact crossover suv that is notable for its affordable price and long list of standard features. The roomy Kia Sorento can accommodate as any as seven passengers across three rows of seating, as well as swallow up to 72.5 cubic feet of cargo behind the front two positions with the rear accommodations stowed.

The 2011 Chevrolet Avalanche full-size crossover presents an interesting hybrid between a pickup and sport-utility vehicle. Both four-wheel and tear-wheel drive versions of the Avalanche turn in fuel economy numbers of 15 miles per gallon in stop and go driving and 21 miles per gallon on the highway.

The 2011 Toyota Venza is a mid-size crossover vehicle built on the same platform as the popular Toyota Camry sedan. The Toyota Venza offers a taller ride height than the Camry, as well as a larger cargo area that can stow as much as 70 cubic feet of gear, making it much more practical than a traditional family car without sacrificing much in terms of comfort or handling.

The 2011 Toyota Venza can be built with either four or six-cylinder power. The former is represented by a 182 horsepower, 2.7-liter engine that also generates 182 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy for this unit shows as 21 miles per gallon around town and 27 miles per gallon on the highway. A 3.5-liter V-6 ups the power ante to 268 horses and 246 lb-ft of torque while reducing fuel mileage only slightly to 19 miles per gallon in the city and 26 miles per gallon on the highway. A six-speed automatic transmission is included free of charge with each Venza model, and all-wheel drive can be added to the crossover as an option.
