2011 Dodge Durango
The 2011 Dodge Durango is a spacious mid-size SUV that has been completely redesigned for the current model year. Capable of accommodating as many as seven passengers or swallowing up to 84.5 cubic feet of cargo space, the Dodge Durango is a very practical vehicle. Throw in its 7,400 lb towing capacity, and it’s clear that the SUV has a lot to offer drivers facing a wide variety of transportation needs.
The 2011 Dodge Durango is initially outfitted with a 3.6-liter V-6 engine that generates 290 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy for this unit is rated at 16 miles per gallon in city driving and 23 miles per gallon on the highway, and all-wheel drive can be added as an option to six-cylinder versions of the SUV. The Durango can also be ordered with a 5.7-liter Hemi V-8, and this motor upgrades power output to 360 horses and 390 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy for the eight-cylinder mill dips to 14 miles per gallon around town and 20 miles per gallon on the highway, but the Hemi engine brings with it an available low-range four-wheel drive system. Both motors are shifted via a five-speed automatic transmission.

The 2012 Ford Mustang’s base V-6 engine displaces 3.7-liters and pushes out a very healthy 305 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. Matched with either a six-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission, the six-cylinder Mustang’s fuel economy also impresses, coming in at 19 miles per gallon in city driving and 31 miles per gallon on the highway. The Ford Mustang GT swaps in a 5.0-liter V-8 that churns out 412 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. Transmission options stay the same, and fuel economy remains competitive (17 miles per gallon in the city, 26 miles per gallon on the highway).
