2012 Toyota Highlander
The 2012 Toyota Highlander is a mid-size crossover that is capable of seating up to seven passengers and hauling an appreciable 95.4 cubic feet of gear with the second and third rows folded forward. The Toyota Highlander also offers a respectable tow rating of 5,000 lbs when equipped with the towing prep package, giving it an added dose of practicality.
The 2012 Toyota Highlander is initially offered with a 2.7-liter, four-cylinder engine under the hood that can be counted on to produce 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. Fuel mileage for this engine shows as 20 miles per gallon in city driving and 25 miles per gallon during highway cruising. A more robust 3.5-liter V-6 is also available as an option, and it pushes out 270 horsepower and 248 lb-ft of torque while returning fuel economy of 18 miles per gallon around town and 24 miles per gallon on the highway. The four-cylinder Highlander is matched with a six-speed automatic transmission, while the V-6 loses a forward gear from it's autobox but gains optional all-wheel drive.
