It’s the final run-up to the July 4 holiday, and this means that there are some excellent rebates and incentives to be taken advantage of both immediately before and after the Independence Day event that serves as a crucial summer sales marker for the entire industry.

Mid-size truck buyers will be pleased to find a $3,000 cash back or zero percent financing offer on the 2011 Nissan Frontier leading off this week’s list of incentives. Following the Nissan is the 2011 Lincoln Town Car full-size sedan that can be had with the choice of either $4,000 cash back or 0.9% financing, and the 2011 Ford Edge mid-size crossover which boasts a $2,000 cash back rebate or a combined $1,000 factory cash back and zero percent financing deal. The Toyota Highlander mid-size SUV packs a $1,000 cash back or 0.0% financing incentive, while the last vehicle on our list, the 2011 Buick Lucerne full-size sedan, entices buyers with the promise of either $2,500 cash back or 3.9% financing.

After the 4th of July has come and gone, car companies in the United States will be ready and waiting with a fresh batch of rebates and incentives. We will be right there to bring you the cream of the crop when it comes to deals and bargains on the new vehicle market.

2011 Nissan Frontier Rebates

The 2011 Nissan Frontier is a mid-size truck that comes exclusively in King Cab and Crew Cab body styles, each of which can accommodate additional passengers behind the first row of seating. The Nissan Frontier also comes with the choice of either a five-foot or six-foot cargo bed, and ordering the PRO-4X edition installs a long list of off-road equipment that includes Bilstein shock absorbers, skid plates and a locking rear differential.

The 2011 Nissan Frontier starts out with a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine under the hood. Good for 152 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque, this motor provides fuel economy of 19 miles per gallon in city driving and 23 miles per gallon on the highway, and can be matched with either a five-speed manual or four0speed automatic transmission. The Frontier can also be equipped with a 4.0-liter V-6 engine that pumps out 261 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque while dropping fuel economy figures by only four and three miles per gallon for each respective measure. The five-speed automatic transmission remains available with the six-cylinder engine, but the five-speed manual is replaced by a six-cog gearbox. V-6 model Frontiers also benefit from the availability of four-wheel drive.

2011 Lincoln Town Car Rebates

The 2011 Lincoln Town car is in its final year of production as a traditional body-on-frame luxury car that provides comfortable accommodations for as many as six passengers thanks to a standard front bench seat. The Lincoln Town Car can also be had in extended or “L” trim, which offers additional legroom for rear occupants as well as heated back seats.

The 2011 Lincoln Town Car keeps drivetrain options simple, boiling things down to a single engine choice: a 4.6-liter, V-8 that generates 239 horsepower and 287 lb-ft of torque. A four-speed automatic transmission sends that output to the rear wheels, and fuel economy for the large four-door car checks in at 16 miles per gallon around town and 24 miles per gallon on the highway.

There is a financing incentive of 0.9% interest or $4,000 cash back on the 2011 Lincoln Town Car available until 12/31/2011.

2011 Ford Edge Rebates

The 2011 Ford Edge mid-size crossover benefits from a refresh that makes the family vehicle that much more capable, comfortable and powerful. The Ford Edge seats up to five passengers and can provide enough interior storage space to haul as much as 69 cubic feet of gear, and the quality of the materials used throughout its cabin has been dramatically improved. Technologies like the MyFord Touch LCD display system also help to raise the standard of equipment offered to Edge buyers.

The 2011 Ford Edge is offered with a 3.5-liter V-6 engine in all but one of its configurations. This motor produces 285 horsepower and 253 lb-ft of torque, and it returns fuel economy numbers of 19 miles per gallon in stop and go driving and 27 miles per gallon on the highway. The Edge Sport is given a slightly larger and more robust 3.7-liter V-6 that puts out 305 horses and 280 lb-ft of twist. Fuel mileage drops to 18 miles per gallon city and 25 miles per gallon highway. All but the base model of the Ford crossover can be had with the option of all-wheel drive, and a six-speed automatic transmission is included with each engine choice.

2011 Toyota Highlander Rebates

The 2011 Toyota Highlander mid-size SUV is a popular choice amongst families seeking lots of room for precious cargo (three rows of seating for up to seven passengers) and all of life’s must-have accessories (95.4 cubic feet of available cargo space). The Toyota Highlander also manages to preserve car-like handling in addition to offering solid utility, which only increases its appeal amongst the mom-and-dad set.

The 2011 Toyota Highlander’s base motor is a 187 horsepower, 2.7-liter four-cylinder that can additionally generate 186 lb-ft of torque. Also available is a 3.5-liter V-6 that ups the power ante to 270 ponies and 248 lb-ft of torque. Each of these engines comes with a six-speed automatic transmission, and the V-6 adds the wrinkle of optional all-wheel drive. Surprisingly, fuel economy for the four-cylinder and V-6 drivetrains is very similar, with the smaller motor pulling ahead by just a few miles per gallon (20-mpg city and 25-mpg highway).

2011 Buick Lucerne Rebates

The 2011 Buick Lucerne is aimed squarely at full-size premium car shoppers who want an isolated, quiet ride and as much passenger room as they can get their hands on. Available six-passenger seating (via an optional front bench) is a highlight for the Buick Lucerne, as is optional equipment such as a navigation system and heated and cooled leather upholstery.

The entry-level 2011 Buick Lucerne comes with a 3.9-liter V-6 engine that produces 227 horsepower and 237 lb-ft of torque, and reports fuel economy of 17 miles per gallon around town and 27 miles per gallon on the highway. More grunt is available in the form of a 4.6-liter V-8 that grinds out 292 horsepower and 288 lb-ft of torque, although there is a price to pay in terms of less impressive fuel economy figures (15-mpg city and 23-mpg highway). Four-speed automatic transmissions pull duty behind both engines.
