July 2010 Kia Optima Deals
The 2010 Kia Optima is one of the least expensive options for anyone searching for a well-equipped mid-size commuter car. Even the entry-level edition of this five-passenger sedan - the LX trim - comes with items such as air conditioning, a CD player with MP3 capability, power windows and door locks and the availability of cruise control and keyless entry. The next step up is the Kia Optima EX, which installs leather seats and a leather-trimmed steering wheel and shift knob, in addition to other goodies like a trip computer and automatic climate control. The SX trim is more of a lateral step than a range-topper, providing a more tuned ride (thanks to stiffer suspension, larger wheels and a more aggressive look) for drivers who are interested in a sporty experience behind the wheel. See more Kia Optima photos for details.
In terms of engine choices, the 2010 Kia Optima LX is offered exclusively with a 175 horsepower, 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. Also standard on the SX and EX trims, and capable of producing 169 lb-ft of torque, this thrifty unit returns fuel mileage of 22 miles per gallon in city driving and 32 miles per gallon on the highway. A more robust V-6 option can be installed in the two higher level trims, and its 2.7-liters of displacement provide 194 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy for the larger engine shows as 20 miles per gallon in stop and go driving and 28 miles per gallon on the highway. The four-cylinder edition of the Kia Optima is matched to either a five-speed manual transmission or a five-speed auto while the V-6 is auto-only.
