July 2010 Chevrolet Colorado Deals
The 2010 Chevrolet Colorado is a mid-size pickup aimed at buyers who need the practicality of a truck but who want to avoid the fuel mileage and parking penalties associated with a much larger vehicle. The Extended Cab edition of the Chevrolet Colorado features a second set of rear-hinged doors immediately behind the primary openings that are designed to make entry and exit into its expanded passenger compartment that much easier. The truck also features a six-foot cargo bed and the ability to haul as much as 6,000 lbs, which makes it an excellent full-size pickup replacement capable of handling almost all of the same duties typically asked of its larger brethren.
The base model 2010 Chevrolet Colorado comes with a 185 horsepower, 2.9-liter four-cylinder engine that also provides 190 lb-ft of torque. This engine's fuel mileage is fairly thrifty for its class, showing as 18 miles per gallon in stop and go driving and 24 miles per gallon on the highway, and in terms of gear boxes it offers either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic. A more potent five-cylinder engine can be ordered in its place, providing 242 horsepower and 242 lb-ft of torque along with fuel mileage that is rated at one mile per gallon less than the smaller motor for each respective measure. V-8 power is also on tap in the form of an optional 5.3-liter unit that generates 300 ponies and 320 lb-ft of torque while maintaining fuel economy that is surprisingly similar to that of the five-cylinder. A four-speed automatic is the only available transmission for the latter two engine choices, and four-wheel drive can be ordered across the entire Chevrolet Colorado range.
