December 2011 Ford Flex Deals
The 2011 Ford Flex is a full-size crossover vehicle that blends qualities typically found in the SUV and minivan segments without falling into either of those categories. The Ford Flex is capable of accommodating as many as seven passengers across three rows of seating, and with the rear rows out of the picture its total cargo space blossoms to 83 cubic feet. Base SE editions of the Flex are well equipped and offer items such as keyless entry, automatic climate control, power front seats and a CD player. Upgrading to the Flex SEL adds dual automatic climate control, the SYNC entertainment and communications interface, heated seats and satellite radio, while the top tier Limited trim grafts on HID headlights, perforated leather seats, a touchscreen navigation system and a hard drive for storing digital music files. A long list of optional features can add a hefty dose of the luxury to the crossover, with highlights showing as 20-inch seats, the Vista Moonroof package (four sunroofs in total) and a DVD entertainment system for rear passengers.
The 2011 Ford Flex is initially offered with a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that provides 262 horsepower and 248 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission sends this power to either the front or all four wheels (if optional all-wheel drive is specified), and it offers fuel mileage of 17 miles per gallon in the city and 24 miles per gallon during highway cruising. A twin-turbo EcoBoost edition of this same engine is also available (and comes with standard all-wheel drive), and it cranks up the output to 355 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque without sacrificing fuel economy - its numbers almost match those of the all-wheel drive naturally-aspirated edition of the Flex (16 miles per gallon around town, 21 miles per gallon on the highway). The six-speed automatic remains the only transmission choice for the EcoBoost engine.
There is a financing incentive of 0.0% interest plus $1,500 cash back or $2,500 total cash back on the 2011 Ford Flex effective until 01/03/2011. See more new car rebates and incentives for December.
