Each new model year there are hundreds of cars that hit the market targeting all kinds of demographics. Most automobile manufacturers have specific models that target: men, teenagers, the wealthy, seniors and commuters, to name a few. Moms need a car that is easy to drive, economical, fuel efficient, and most important: practical.  But are there any cars that make good vehicles for women and more specifically moms? The answer is yes, there are plenty of vehicles out there and this list includes a handful of the best used cars for moms.  

5) Mini Cooper Countryman

Its cute and cuddly but most importantly, it has 4 doors. The regular Mini Cooper was a car that tons of women wanted to own. But moms need 4 doors to make life easier on their family. That’s why when Mini releases an extended version called the Countryman, mothers everywhere rejoiced. And with such a reasonable used price; many moms out there can drive one of these sporty little cars. Interior room is great and the car is quite useful. 4) Kia Optima

Kia has been an up-and-comer for the past handful of years and their sedans have really begun to dominate the sales charts. When the Optima received a complete make-over moms everywhere began to realize they could have an nice looking sedan. The Kia Optima offers a sexy look along with a nice interior and plush road manners. Powered by a 2.4 liter 4 cylinder engine, the Kia Optima manages 24 MPG in the city and 35 MPG on the highway. If you are a mom looking for something other than a run of the mill Honda Accord or Nissan Altima; the Optima might be your Huckleberry.

The Camry Hybrid was totally redesigned for the 2012 model year. This model gets over 20% better fuel economy than last year's hybrid. How did Toyota manage to reduce the price and increase the fuel efficiency of this car? Well for starters the Toyota Camry Hybrid weights over 200 lbs. less than the previous model. Anytime you can reduce weight, gas mileage will improve. The Camry also has a beltless engine which means the accessories like power steering and air conditioning run on electric power. Finally the Toyota hybrid Synergy Drive is more efficient. These areas of improvement net the Toyota Camry Hybrid Gas Mileage ratings of 43 MPG in the city and 39 MPG on the highway. This is perfect for the mom who puts on a lot of miles. Best of all the Camry does not have that ugly wedge shape associated with other hybrids.

What’s so great about the Volkswagen Passat? Well, for starters every mom would love to own a car that gets 43 MPG on the highway. This car can literally go almost 800 miles between fill-ups at the gas station. That is perfect for mom’s who are seemingly always on the go. And did you know the Passat is built in the good old U.S.A.? The Volkswagen Passat does everything and does it well. There is ample room for rear passengers, the turbo diesel engine produces 236 lb-ft of torque to get you moving, and the Passat is packed full of features and accessories.
