Solid as a rock
Pros: The engine and trans. They are so smooth and well made.
Cons: The ride is a little firm, could be a little softer for me.This car isn't perfect, but it is powerful, smooth, quiet, and has many features. This STS has the V6 but doesn't lack for power and acceleration. The AC, speed control, transmission, windows, doors, actually all the extras work and feel like high quality. This is a rock solid, premium car.
Pros: It's hard to say what my favorite feature is. I like the power seats, with heat; the Bose stereo and CD player and the steering wheel/column easy controls,. I LOVE that it is dependable and safe!
Cons: I regret that the maintainence/upkeep is so expensive. The oil is expensive and when I replaced the windshield wipers I had price shock. Now that a couple of things have been taken care of, I love my car. There was a problem with water in the back floorboard after any heavy rain; the car is parked on a driveway, not a garage. Everyone thought it was coming from the moon roof but an astute worker took the car apart and found the leaking came from the back windshield. It was replaced and there has been no more leaking. The other minor problem was the air conditioner vent on the passenger side. It didn't work! They fixed it and now it works fine.
Pros: Heated seats.
Cons: Navigation system.I recently passed 50,000 miles and have never had the car in for anything other than routine maintenance. No rattles, squeaks or strange sounds. Fit and function are perfect. Only complaint is the navigation system is overly complicated and costs way too much for annual updates.
Pros: The performance & handling
Cons: The 'stiff' ride
Advice: Customize it like I did and you'll be much happier with it.The 2009 STS rides rough because of its Sports suspension. It also has too much wind pressure noise going in to strong headwinds. The 302HP V6 is high performance and the handling is great. The added features are AI such as blind spot mirror warning, warning feature for drifting out of your lane, etc. The Cad transmission with automatic, 'sport' automatic and 6 speed manual options is super and adds to performance tremendously. The GPS is not user friendly and operation could be greatly simplified. My dealer customized this car with the chrome V grille, chrome rocker panels and chrome background for rear license which along with the spoiler on the trunk and the new dark blue metallic paint job really makes a sharp looking unit. Mileage is about 23 MPG average and can be maintained at 80 mph road speeds. If it rode better, it would be a premium unit.
Pros: Remote Start
Cons: Car Phone jack in ash tray
Advice: Test Drive one and you'll be hooked!I've had many cars and this is the best to date by far. Speed, Comfort and Style it has it all. I compared many before I decided on the STS. The keyless start, ventilated seats, 15 speaker surround sound stereo, GPS screen is big and easy, the console gadgets are very easy to use, all are excellent...I don't think I can do without these gadgets going forward. I'm completely satisfied with my STS.
Pros: fun to drive
Cons: tiny glove box
Advice: drive itWe have had this car for 4 months and 4000 miles. It is a quiet, easy and fun to drive car. It is great on the highway. We just finished a 1800 mile trip and got 24.9 MPG overall. Top was 26.9 MPG on one tankful on a 75 MPH interstate - not too shabby. The keyless feature is great as are so many other features.
Pros: The Looks
Cons: The V6 but it is growing on me
Advice: Buy a certified Cadillac can't beat the serviceI bought my STS a year old and I love it.I was looking for a DTS ,which I have driven the deville for the most part, the last 3 cars in fact.My salesman pointed out this car while waiting for a 'program car' to appear. Just drive it! he said. well I did,now I own it.The interior of the STS blows away any other Cadi I drove.
