2015 Cadillac SRX Summary

Changes for the 2015 Cadillac SRX:

For 2015, the Cadillac SRX adds OnStar 4G LTE connectivity with a Wi-Fi hotspot, and is offered in two new colors called Cocoa Bronze and Majestic Plum.

Model Lineup:

A 5-passenger, luxury crossover SUV, the 2015 Cadillac SRX is offered in Base, Luxury, Performance, and Premium “collections” of equipment.

The Luxury collection is your passport to expected amenities. This version adds genuine wood interior trim, heated front seats with adjustable thigh and lumbar support, an 8-way power adjustable front passenger’s seat, memory for the driver’s preferences, cabin humidity and air quality sensors, and a heated steering wheel. Power adjustable pedals are also standard, along with keyless access with push-button starting, an oversized UltraView sunroof, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a power rear liftgate with memory height settings.

Think that’s all? Not yet. The SRX Luxury has a standard reversing camera with rear cross-traffic alert, front and rear parking assist sensors, rain-sensing wipers, and a Side Blind Zone Alert system. Additionally, Cadillac installs power folding and auto-dimming exterior mirrors, adaptive remote engine starting, LED accent lighting, an upgraded wheel finish, and more for this version of the SUV.

Choose the SRX Performance to get a navigation system, Xenon HID headlights with an adaptive forward lighting system, variable effort power steering, fog lights, and 20-inch aluminum wheels. The SRX Premium adds triple-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and several safety-related upgrades including Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning, a Safety Alert Seat, and Intellibeam headlights.

Engines and Transmissions:

Every 2015 Cadillac SRX includes a 3.6-liter V-6 generating 308 horsepower. A 6-speed automatic transmission delivers the power to the SUV’s front wheels, and all-wheel drive is optional. The transmission includes an Eco mode that Cadillac claims can improve fuel economy by up to 1 mpg.

Fuel Economy Ratings:

According to official EPA fuel economy ratings, the 2015 Cadillac SRX with front-wheel drive get 19 mpg in combined driving, while the version with AWD returns 18 mpg.

Safety Ratings:

In crash tests performed by the NHTSA, the SRX earns a 5-star overall protection rating. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gives the SRX top scores in all assessments except for small overlap frontal-impact, for which it had not been tested as this summary was written. When properly equipped, the SRX’s front crash protection rating is Superior, according to the IIHS.

Technology Highlights:

There is no shortage of technology aboard the 2015 SRX, especially on higher trim levels. The standard Cadillac User Experience (CUE) infotainment system is designed to work like a smartphone or tablet computer, offering haptic feedback and proximity sensing capability, as well as pinch, spread, and swipe functionality. For 2015, it is upgraded with a new 4G LTE version of OnStar services, which includes a free 3-month trial with 3GB of free data.

OnStar also includes a year of free Automatic Crash Response service. A reversing camera is available, and SRX buyers can upgrade to tech-laden Driver Awareness and Driver Assist option packages.
