Pros: Keyless entry and remote start.
Cons: Seat memory settings are in the computer instead of set on door buttons.
Advice: Bought it based on priceGoing from an Acura to a Cadillac was a real mental challange. The first 3,000 miles have been great. The computer system is too complex (includes a 2.5 hour cd) but I love the MP3 player. GM has some kinks to iron out. Keyless fob, I love it! At first I thought it was a gimmick, but now I am hooked. Living on the edge of the Rocky Mountains, the V-6 is outstanding on the drive from Denver to Summitt County, particularly on the steep approach to the tunnel on I-70. Downside is milage, 19-20 in town and 22 expressway. And that is conservative driving. I love the car, but as with all the new cars it is so complex, I would be afraid to keep it beyond waranty.
Pros: comfortable seats
Cons: the RIDE
Advice: Test drive on a semi rough roadI find that the sts v6 2006 cadillac to be very rough riding. Why? Good points: Styling, comfort in seating and overall performance
Pros: Northstar, Magnetic Ride Control, and AWD make it handle like a sports car
Cons: Not available with Sirius
Advice: Buy a fully loaded one - the 6 cyl with standard suspension felt like a minivanI have had my fully loaded SRX for almost a year now and it's been great. I never thought I'd by another new GM but this car has changed my mind. The Northstar V8 runs strong, the magnetic ride control and AWD makes it handle like a sports car, and the seven passenger seating is helpful. I also love the creature comforts, like the great navigation system, DVD player with wireless headphones (my baby is totally entertained)and the cool sunroof.
Pros: Remote start.
Cons: The tires in back cannot be rotated to the front.
Advice: Get one, you will be making the right choice. No need to go elsewhere, this is a world class car. I have driven Mercedes, BMW and Lexus, there is nothing that can outperform this new 06 Cadillac STS. It's luxurious, quick, easy on gas and very confortable. Excellently built with solid road manners. Here in Miami, Fl. I see the folks in the Acuras etc. always cought staring as my STS goes by. Best car I have ever driven!!!
Pros: Once programmed I need do nothing but get in and drive.
Cons: Interior dash is average.
Advice: Consider the V8Drives as expected. Getting 22 MPG in the city. I am enjoying the features. Interior satisfactory, exterior excellent.
Pros: Magnetic Ride Control
Cons: Dash Board Interia Quality
Advice: Should select V-8 with Magnetic RideI bought it in Japan (ZIP code 46285 was dummy. I live in Japan). Almost no one owns this car which is one reason to buy (In Japan most people want to buy BMW/Mercedes). V-8 engine and suspension (Magnetic-ride) is so good. Large sun-roof and exterior I like it althoug interior is cheap. I think General Motors Asia Pasific is bad at marketing of this product.
Pros: The Ultraview!
Cons: The rear window wiper and washer isnt the best. Very small for the large window back there.
Advice: Test drive it and you wont be able to walk away. Its a great family car and you cant beat Cadillacs waranty. The 2006 Cadillac SRX V6 is very stylish and very comfortable. It has alot of get up and go for the V6. Very easy to get around and park. The kids love it and I love having the third seat for extra kids (the third seat is only for kids though). Pleanty of leg room both in the front seats and the second row. When the third row is down there is plenty of cargo space, even for my LARGE stroller! The Ultraview is a MUST!!! It is amazing and we love to have it open! When it is open, it is amazingly quiet and not my wind comes in which is great! Cadillac did a great job, would buy a Cadillac again!!!
