2007 Cadillac CTS-V - Base
Pros: 6-speed manual.
Cons: Need to use hand brake to automatically move seats to the rear
Advice: Be prepared for the 'sports' ride. Not as smooth as other CadillacsI traded a 2003 LS6/Z06 for the 2007 CTS-V. Although it is not as powerful as the Z06, the Cady is still very powerful and fun to drive. I puchased the 6 speed manual. The car is more convenient than the Corvette and my wife will drive it. She was teriffied of the Z06. The cadillac gives us the best of both worlds---comfort and power. I am going to purchase a new CTS-V next year. Sincerely, Charles Conditt
2009 Cadillac CTS-V - Base
Pros: navigation stereo entertainment system
Cons: the piano finish looks great but scratches easily
Advice: buy itThis car is way under valued compared to other cars in this class that I have owned over the past 5 years,'BMW 650I','Z06','MERCEDES M class', The best way to describe it is,high tech, high quality,a suspention to die for and WAY TO FAST, Thanks Detroit you saved use from one more German import. PS. words of wisdom grass hopper, keep the traction control ON until you snatch the pebble from my hand! its BAD to the BONE.
2006 Cadillac CTS-V - Base
Pros: The whole car
Cons: Nothing i loved it
Advice: noneIts was a smooth easy drive with great handling and speed.
2006 Cadillac CTS - Base w/1SB
Pros: Appearance - nice size and very sharp looks
Cons: Major mechanical defects - Cadillac should be ashamed to have an engine fail at 1500 miles
Advice: Avoid this vehicle unless you like having your car in the shop more than in your garageThe quality control on our 2007 CTS was very poor. The electrical system failed twice in the first month of ownership and an engine cylinder failed at less than 1500 miles under normal operating conditions on a busy interstate highway -- very scary. Cadillac replaced the engine but the dealer in Denver acted like it was no big deal for any of this to happen.
2007 Cadillac XLR-V - Base
Pros: HART TOP CONV, HEADSUP INSTRUMENTS AND THE POWER.
Cons: TIME IT TAKES TO OPERATE THE TOP.
Advice: DRIVE IT AND HAVE FUN. IT DOES NEED BETTER SOUND, SO CHANGE THE EXHAUST.I HAVE BACK PROBLEMS AND STILL FIND THIS CAR VERY COMFORTABLE. THE PERFORMANCE IS EXCELLANT, BUT I WOULD LIKE MORE HORSEPOWER. THAT IS JUST A PERSONAL THING. IT HAS PLENTY. I DID CHANGE THE RIMS AND TIRES, BUT I CAN'T GET AWAY FROM PEOPLE RUNNING OVER WHEN I PARK OR WHEN I GO TO THE CAR, TO PRAISE AND GET DETAILS ABOUT THIS MACHINE. I THINK THE CAR IS JUST BEAUTIFUL AND TEENAGERS TO OLD LADYS AGREE. I EVEN HAD SOMEONE ACTUALLY RUN ACROSS THE PARKING LOT WAVING THIER ARMS WILDLY, JUST TO ASK ME ABOUT THE CAR. I LOOK RATHER INTIMIDATING, BUT THAT DOESN'T STOP THEM. WITH THE TRACTION CONTROL OFF AND THE LARGER TIRES, IT IS JUST BARLEY GETTING TRACTION WITH FULL THROTTLE. YOU CAN HEAR A SLIGHT SOUND OF LOOSE TIRES AND TWO LIGHT BLACK LINES ON THE ROAD, IF YOU HAVE TIME TO LOOK IN THE MIRROR. IT TAKES ABOUT 30 SECONDS THE PUT THE TOP UP OR DOWN. THAT SEEMS TO BE ABOUT AVERAGE COMPARED TO OTHER CARS, BUT I WOULD LIKE IT TO BE FASTER. IT IS A VERY, VERY FUN CAR TO DRIVE, EXCEPT FOR THE ONLOOKERS. I ALSO HAD TO CHANGE THE EXHAUST TO GET A BETTER SOUND. THAT AGAIN IS A PERSONAL THING.
2006 Cadillac STS - V6
Pros: Remote Start
Cons: Car Phone jack in ash tray
Advice: Test Drive one and you'll be hooked!I've had many cars and this is the best to date by far. Speed, Comfort and Style it has it all. I compared many before I decided on the STS. The keyless start, ventilated seats, 15 speaker surround sound stereo, GPS screen is big and easy, the console gadgets are very easy to use, all are excellent...I don't think I can do without these gadgets going forward. I'm completely satisfied with my STS.
2006 Cadillac STS - V6
Pros: fun to drive
Cons: tiny glove box
Advice: drive itWe have had this car for 4 months and 4000 miles. It is a quiet, easy and fun to drive car. It is great on the highway. We just finished a 1800 mile trip and got 24.9 MPG overall. Top was 26.9 MPG on one tankful on a 75 MPH interstate - not too shabby. The keyless feature is great as are so many other features.
