2002 Cadillac Escalade - AWD
Pros: Overall Quality from top to bottom
Cons: Gas mileage
Advice: Check out the Denali but for a little more $ you get a LOT more
As an SUV owner for the past 10 yrs, the Cadillac Escalade is the creme de la creme. Prior to purchasing this vehicle Sunday, we checked out everything on the market and nothing compared. It is like driving down the road on air with tons of power under the hood. The competition seems to forget that a larger vehicle needs a better engine. You won't be able to take this one away from me! And to think I almost decided not to buy it because the first dealer was so horrible! Coulter was absolutely incredible! See Dr Cooper! -
2002 Cadillac Escalade - AWD
Pros: sound system
Cons: fake wood
Advice: if towing this is the best big suv.....
best riding 3/4 ton truck i have owned. tows 30 foot snowmobile trailer with comfort. awd works great onroad. have pulled trailer in snow as deep as 12inches without problems. i drive 75 to 80 with 4 sleds in the trailer. the bigger engine makes huge differance in the hills of northern michigan. -
2002 Cadillac Escalade - 4x2
Pros: onstar
Cons: leg room/ interior design
Advice: look at the 03 Navagator and Seqouia before you buy.
The power of this SUV is awesome but the driver side leg room is not good. I am six foot four and had a lot more leg room in the Seqouia and the 02 and 03 Navagator. Cadillac needs to make the interior match the exterior. The dashboard of the 02 Cadillac is way to much plastic for the $ money. Learn from the 03 Navagator that's they way a 50k SUV should look on the inside. SUV is for us tall and big guys PLEASE give us more leg room CADILLAC learn from the Toyota SEQOUIA it is roomy and have pleanty of leg room in the drivers seat as well as the second row seat but I did here that it had brake problem investigate before you buy and the Navagator has the best leg room of them all in the drivers seat the Seqouia the best second row leg room seating. Cadillac look the best on the outside but needs more leg room and better interior styling and drop some on the price. -
2002 Cadillac DeVille - DTS
Pros: Premium stereo package outstanding.
Cons: Fuel ecconomy not as good as advertised
Advice: Import luxury cars had classier exteriors not the interior comfort.
Shopped to replace a 94 Seville SLS with a newer STS... Wife saw the red DTS with spoiler, sun roof, plus other options and we owned it! I think the Seville has nicer exterior styling. The premium radio sound and adjustments are outstanding and beat the Bose premium we had in the 94 Seville. Engine is OK with regular fuel, but definitely has more zip with the mid or premium grades. Comparison cars didn't come close in comfort. . -
2002 Cadillac Escalade - AWD
Pros: Extra power
Cons: Poor seating comfort!
Advice: Don't put this amount of money in this type vehicle!!
Drives stiff and some what rough!! Has good power but does not sound smooth! Seats are nor confortable!! -
2002 Cadillac Seville - STS
Pros: Northstar V8
Cons: Front Door Alignment at Front Fenders (Dealer fixed)
Advice: Get a Cadillac Certified vehicle
This car is a quality blend of Performance and Technology. Very comfortable to drive and ride in. I like that Cadillac remembers their reputation for driver and passenger comfort in this vehicle, yet the performance characteristics are on par, or exceed other luxury touring sedans in the market, some of which cost considerably more than the Seville. The NorthStar V8 is an absolutely wonderful machine, and any enthusiast will appreciate the exhaust note under hard acceleration! This engine definitely doesn't sound or act like your grandpa's Cadillac, it's a purebred that's more than willing to get out there and stretch it's legs upon command. Passing, road handling capability, and even evasive manuevers can all be tackled with confidence in this car, without any hesitation. Test drive one, or better yet, rent one for a few days and you'll fall in love just as I did. -
2002 Cadillac DeVille - DTS
Pros: Responce and handling
Cons: Goodyear O.E. tires, I removed them and replaced with Contintentals
Advice: Drive competing cars, and you will love this one.
The DTS has plenty of power for anything you want to do. I was in west Texas on a long lonely road this summer, and it will do the 150 that it has on the speedo and more. Great driving car, better than Lexis and BMW. As long as Cadillac makes cars like this, I will never go back to foreign make again!
