Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: the impressive handling
Cons: the small glove compartment
Advice: A lot of car for the moneyThis is the best quality American car I have ever owned. Not a single defect in 5 months and 7500 miles. The fit and finish are perfect. It is definitely a head turner with its distinctive styling. It handles very well. The sports suspension lets you feel the road but it comfortably smooths out the bumps. The 5 speed manual is great. The basic sound system is more than adequate. The standard headlights are really as bright as you'll need.
Pros: The controls on the steering wheel
Cons: The gap in the armrest and the storage bin below.
Advice: Get the manualThis car is a wonderful example of the imrovements to the American vehicle in the last few years. It is extremely comfortable and has good power. The ride is quiet and it is a pleasure to drive.
Pros: Talking GPS
Cons: No auto dim headlights
Advice: Load it upVery responsive and quick. It may not be a BMW 7 series but for the 40 thousand I paid, I couldn't find another car that compared. This fully loaded car has everything and more than I need. It's a very fun car to drive and boy does it turn heads. It's a looker.
Pros: quite interior
Cons: seating fir me is very uncomfortabe and causes me back pain
Advice: Test drive it for 50 miles or moreI purchased this vehicle last November. Overall I like the vehicle and all of its' features like backup warning memory for seat position one for my key and one for my wifes key. I also like these features the radio weather reports, On Star and also the warning, when one gets into icing conditions that let you know there are possible icing conditions. I live in Florida and therefore can not appreciate the seat warmers, I purchased a new 1983 Eldorado and in my opinion the quality on it was much better than this one. For me it is not a comfortable vehicle. When I drive this vehicle for 40 miles or more I get a terrific back pain. At first I thought it was me but since I have a 1998 Plymouth Voyager and have no back problem when driving it. It has to be the seats in the Cadillac. I have also since driven other vehicles and have no problem. I have taken it to a couple dealers and they say it can't be fixed. One dealer sent me to a upholstery shop. They put in some extra foam that made me have nore pain in different areas than the original. So for me this vehicle is not a luxury one. It is not as luxurious as the old one I mentioned. I do like the low noise level which is one of the reasons we purchased it but we can't keep it. If it causes me discomfort somehow I have to get rid of it. For this reason to me it is a lemon.
Cons: Interior of doors
Advice: Know what you're buying this is not your Father's CaddyI love this car more than any other car including other caddy’s that I have owned. Have put on over 7k in mileage in 3 months and other than some vibration noise from the driver window it has been flawless. I have driven in all conditions no problem with glare as mentioned in the other review. Nor at 6” have I hit my head going over a bump. Two friends both of whom are BMW and Audi owners have driven it and gave it high marks.
Pros: Bose Sound system is top notch
Advice: Avoid at all costAvoid the car at all costs. First, visability on a bright day is a major issue. The design of the windshield and dashboard lead to signifcant relfections that at best distract the driver and at worst blind them. Night time vision is fine. Second, the ride. The car may have been tested on the race tracks of Germany; however, it wasn't tested on the city streets of major American cities. Make sure you are tightly strapped in with your seatbelts because the bumps of city streets could cause you to hit the ceiling. Within 24 hours of purchase, I requested a return of my Oldsmobile Intrigue, whose ride was much better in the city along with a refund of cash paid. A got a verbal NO from the dealer but no response to a dealer. A formal complaint on the visibility issue is being filed with the Highway Safety and Comsumer Product Safety agencies. Again, safe yourself a lot of grief. Look elsewhere for your next car.
Pros: sportscar handling
Cons: placement of drivers seat up down control
Advice: Definitely Chrome wheelsI have a 2002 and a 2003 Cadillac DeVille. This vehicle black with black tinted windows is gorgeous! 'Like a Corvette for adults'
