    2002 Cadillac DeVille

    Not dependable

    Pros: looks good

    Cons: dependability

My 02 Deville was one of my worst cars ever. As soon as it turned 100,000 miles everything started to go wrong. ( front wheel hubs, rear shocks, actuator for the air flow, transmission). This car was a big disappointment.

    2002 Cadillac DeVille - DTS

Pros: Rear parking assist and heated seats front and rear. ( I live in Michigan)

    Cons: Haven't found any yet.

Advice: You could spend a lot more money for a Lexus or Mercedes, but why ?

Comfort and safety are important in my choice of a new car. The Cadillac Deville DTS with its continusouly variable road sensing suspension, side air bags front and back, stability control system (Stabilitrac), 300 HP, give this car a sports/touring sedan feel. I haven't had this experience, but a friend of mine has a Cadillac (STS) with the Stabilitrac system. While going about 80 MPH in Texas two months' ago he had a rear tire blow out. His car started to swerve and immediately the stability control system 'kicked in' , he had no problem bringing his car to a safe stop along the side of the road. He pushed the On-Star button - they had his location on the GPS, and in about 20 minutes a tow truck was there to change the tire for him. My DTS also uses 'regular grade' of unleaded gas. The (drivers') seat heater need to be replaced, hence the quality score. (The 48 month - 50,000 mile warranty covered this however).

    2002 Cadillac DeVille - DHS

    Pros: quite interior

Cons: seating fir me is very uncomfortabe and causes me back pain

Advice: Test drive it for 50 miles or more

I purchased this vehicle last November. Overall I like the vehicle and all of its' features like backup warning memory for seat position one for my key and one for my wifes key. I also like these features the radio weather reports, On Star and also the warning, when one gets into icing conditions that let you know there are possible icing conditions. I live in Florida and therefore can not appreciate the seat warmers, I purchased a new 1983 Eldorado and in my opinion the quality on it was much better than this one. For me it is not a comfortable vehicle. When I drive this vehicle for 40 miles or more I get a terrific back pain. At first I thought it was me but since I have a 1998 Plymouth Voyager and have no back problem when driving it. It has to be the seats in the Cadillac. I have also since driven other vehicles and have no problem. I have taken it to a couple dealers and they say it can't be fixed. One dealer sent me to a upholstery shop. They put in some extra foam that made me have nore pain in different areas than the original. So for me this vehicle is not a luxury one. It is not as luxurious as the old one I mentioned. I do like the low noise level which is one of the reasons we purchased it but we can't keep it. If it causes me discomfort somehow I have to get rid of it. For this reason to me it is a lemon.

    2002 Cadillac DeVille - DTS

    Pros: Premium stereo package outstanding.

Cons: Fuel ecconomy not as good as advertised

Advice: Import luxury cars had classier exteriors not the interior comfort.

Shopped to replace a 94 Seville SLS with a newer STS... Wife saw the red DTS with spoiler, sun roof, plus other options and we owned it! I think the Seville has nicer exterior styling. The premium radio sound and adjustments are outstanding and beat the Bose premium we had in the 94 Seville. Engine is OK with regular fuel, but definitely has more zip with the mid or premium grades. Comparison cars didn't come close in comfort. .

    2002 Cadillac DeVille - DTS

    Pros: Responce and handling

Cons: Goodyear O.E. tires, I removed them and replaced with Contintentals

Advice: Drive competing cars, and you will love this one.

The DTS has plenty of power for anything you want to do. I was in west Texas on a long lonely road this summer, and it will do the 150 that it has on the speedo and more. Great driving car, better than Lexis and BMW. As long as Cadillac makes cars like this, I will never go back to foreign make again!

    2002 Cadillac DeVille - DTS

    Pros: Driving position and ergonomics.

    Cons: Lack of sunvisor extensions.

Advice: Learn to use all the features of the vehicle.

This car was certainly made with the 1950's-1960's muscle car enthusiast in mind. It provides comfort, power, handling, and overall satisfaction of ownership. It has enough interior room to suit a large man. It is not a kiddie toy.
