2013 Cadillac CTS Gets New Shades

Cadillac is hard at work putting the finishing touches on the redesigned 2014 CTS—scheduled for a public premiere at the upcoming New York Auto Show—but the brand also has found the time to put some new finishes on the 2013 Cadillac CTS family as well.

The 2013 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Silver Frost Edition will be offered at select dealerships beginning in March, wearing a custom-cool matte finish in, of course, Silver Frost. But unlike typical matte paints, Cadillac’s new coating will flash a low-profile sparkle in certain lighting conditions, but while still maintaining its trendy no-gloss finish. The new appearance is then set off by the driver’s choice of yellow or red brake calipers for its Brembo brakes, and high-polish or satin graphite finishes for its wheels, along with a suede-covered steering wheel and shift knob.

Production of the 2013 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Silver Frost Edition will be limited to just 100 units.

In addition, the brand also will release a limited number of 2013 Cadillac CTS models with a new Stealth Blue metallic finish, and this color will be available on both the coupe and the full 2013 Cadillac CTS-V portfolio, including coupe, sedan and wagon body styles. The Stealth Blue Edition cars also go on sale this March, and also in limited numbers, and will be further accented by satin graphite wheels with silver brake calipers, a dark-finish grille and Recaro sport seats; customers will be able to upgrade to an available leather interior that shows off a complementary Twilight Blue shade.

“Some color hues, such as blues, greys and reds easily identify with performance and velocity,” said Michelle Killen, lead creative designer for exterior paints. “Both Stealth Blue and Silver Frost are very expressive but still true to the luxury and exclusivity that a Cadillac represents, which were driving factors in the creation of the color.”
